Played at home in a new wicket for this year. It did not play well!!

I got 3, everything had kept low so was looking to get forward and stay in. One rose and took the shoulder of the bat and floated to gully.
3 of our guys got bowled by pee rollers. 120 all out.


Oppos opener chanced his arm and at 52 for 1 of 9 overs it looked all over.
101 all out proved gambling a a mugs game!

Oppo hit 268 in 40, we fell 5 short on 263 after our 40! Good game but would prefer to fall well short..  I opened again but fell for 7, let the side down!

League game, can't see anyone else calling the oppo back so why should they. We had an oppo hit it and we appealed and was given out. We knew he'd hit it but meh, they'd over appealed etc so fair game.

A defeat for us today but 4 wickets and 66 opening for the 1st time

We "accidentally" got promoted during the winter (team dropped out of the league) so now I benefit from playing every week for my actual club (rather than go on loan in free weeks) but so far we've played the 3 top sides of the division and found it's a big step up. Opposition today batted first and posted 172 and in reply we were 25-8 with arguably our strongest side. Anyhow I went in at No.10 intent on using my time at the crease as net practice and 12+ overs later, I had only scored 10 runs before I nicked one to a very short 2nd slip. At least the score had doubled for the 9th wicket but in those 12+ overs, I got just one 1 half volley (which I dispatched) but apart from that, I got absolutely nothing to hit. Most of my time was spent digging out yorkers or fending off lifting deliveries.

Complete farce today. Played Farnham 3XI, who only had 7 men - at least 5 of which were 4XI cricketers.

We bowled them out of for 31 in 12.5 overs and chased it down in 10 overs for the loss of 1 wicket. We were off the pitch by 2.30pm

That is simply not league cricket. Roughly 7 of our guys had no kind of game and it was certainly no fun for their guys, we left before tea even arrived.

I feel for their skipper - felt rather a hollow victory.

Oh dear  our experience would have been the same if we'd won the toss, the oppo was the weakest I've ever seen in SC 3rd XI, I'll spare their blushes by not naming them. At least they had 11 players. As it so happened we batted and racked up 314 and rolled them for 40 without doing anything special, their batting was awful beyond belief. In spite of this I managed to play myself completely out of form, horrible scratchy 12, can't hit a cow's a*** with a banjo at the moment, don't think I can blame my Hattori.

Bowled the oppo out for 122. We were 47-3 in plenty of control. Folded to 60 all out. Poor application from the batters.

We lost yesterday. Made 170-9 (I blobbed, went back to a spinner 2nd ball) which we felt was 40 short. A decent bowling effort followed but the opposition got them 5 down. Disappointed to only get 2 overs, especially as I had it hooping but skipper wanted to get the spinners on. Disappointing day, looking forward to training in the week and bouncing back next weekend.

One of those days yesterday where I played absolutely no part in the game!

We won the toss and chose to bowl on a wetish wicket, managed to bowl them out for 62 within twenty five overs, didn't get a bowl, fun stuff. We then chased it down for no loss in thirteen overs, nothing for me again.

So what did I take from yesterdays game? Sunburn, that is all. Will be requesting to be in the thirds for the rest of the season, not worth me paying my membership fee otherwise.

An easy win yesterday
Batted first and managed 260 off 45 overs
Oppos favour letting the youngsters bat all day without playing an attacking shot
I'm sure that helps someone? But I can't see it myself.
We got em 5 or 6 down off 45 overs for 160ish ,(it was that boring,there was no need to look at the scoreboard)

I got 35ish, bowled off my pads trying to pull a pee roller to leg,(plonker!)
Dropped one, maybe two catches and caught one ,(bigger plonker!)
Top of the league and looking good for another league and cup double going off how strong a club we are at the minute

Easy win for us as well yesterday. Won by 90 runs at Stoke dabernon. Not their fault as its a council maintained outfield but it was terrible, our 207 was worth so much more. It didn't matter how hard you hit the ball along the ground it Trickled for 1 or 2 through the long rough.

I batted ok but only managed 21 before picking out gully.

I think our 2's and 3's are going to be very strong this year looking at the players we have available

Well funny old game yesterday

Skipper decides to bat first then joined me at the wicket with us 11-5 off 9 joking that it was still the right call

We recovered to 156-8 off 45 (71* for me but very tired as batted 3 but in 4th ball)

Bowled oppo out for 49 so looks easy win on score sheet but was not looking that way after 10 overs
