Got a great win yesterday, we batted first and scored 225, our number 3 scored a quick 55, and our opener got a solid 48 off a few overs but people batted round him for a while, everyone else then chipped in with 30's as we were 6 down I think.
We then bowled them out for 220 in the last over with them needing 6 off the last over to win, I picked up my first 5 wicket haul for the season which I'm pleased with.

And our first team had a massive win in the premier league, they scored 244, and then bowled the oppo out for 120 ish, considering at tea they 72-0, and after tea they scored 46-10. So a lot of beers were consumed last bight

Another comfortable win for us yesterday. Won the toss and bowled the opposition out for 75. I opened the bowling and got 3/23 from 10 overs. We knocked them off 2 down to return to the top of the league!

I seem to be finding more and more innovative ways of getting myself out, yesterday's was aiming to play straight between bowler and mid on, caught my front pad with the inside edge and ended up leading edge toe end back to the  bowler, who pooed himself thinking it was coming at full-speed regained his composure and took the easiest return catch he'll probably ever get.

And my epically poor start to the season.

Another win, 4 out of 5 and top of the division, playing team 3rd at start of play. Posted 177-9 after being 30-4, personally disappointed to spoon a leading edge to mid wicket on 12 when I was feeling good. Common belief is we have the best attack in the division and even missing one of the 3 top bowlers we have we had them 40-5. I then dropped a guy who was single handedly taking the game from us,  misjudging a catch at long off. Fortunately I then donned the gauntlets and took an edge from him, he didn't walk though! Ended up 152 all out. Looking good so far this season...

Really good game yesterday. Turned up with only nine men, with only four of us being 3rd XI regulars, the rest were 4ths players. We were put in to bat on a horrible grassy, mossy, uneven wicket, and promptly lost three wickets for not many runs. Our all-rounder managed to hit an excellent quick forty smashing the bowlers back over their heads for several sixes before getting out. I made 13 not out (including a lovely straight drive which nearly took the umpire's head off) as we were bowled out for 103.

We managed to get them six down for 70 odd before I came on to bowl with 18 overs left. I bowled through to the end, taking 2-13 off 7.3 including the final wicket to win by four runs. Also took a good reflex catch at silly point. A fantastic win for us.

Terrible day - they were a poo bowling side and we knocked up 230 for 4 off our 40 overs.

Unfortunately they seemed to be a rather good batting side, and in a huge outfield we struggled to hold them back as they batted all the way down, and we lost with them 8 wkts down and 4 balls to go.

BUGGER! (good game of cricket though!)

Not the best day for your 1's and 2's either, bit of a change after skittling our 2's for 43 in the pre season game

Another good win and top of the league with 100% record. Chased down 178 relatively easily 5 down with 15 overs to spare.

I managed to play another terrible shot after getting to 34 comfortably. Bowled well, 4-49 from 10, most of which came in the last 2 overs to the short boundary. Must thank the skipper for giving me the last 10 overs of the innings! Decent caught and bowled as well.

Feel in great form but finding great ways of getting out

Dropped catch central at our game yesterday, most probably 6 from us in the field. Keeps happening every week! Took 3 catches personally, so I'm fine!  ;) The opposition made 227 from their 45 overs. We had a bad start, one of our openers made 0, and we were 45-2. That was it for the day though, I made 88* at 3 and our number 4 Overseas made 102* and won the game/brought his hundred up with a six over long off! Won by 8 wickets against a team who're tipped to be promoted. Solid win and 187 run partnership.  :)

The 2s skipper rants and raves about anyone and anything so that sounds about right for him! Even when they win he'll find something someone did wrong. He's actually a decent bloke in the bar afterwards, plus he's also the groundsman. I heard our umpire didn't give a "plumb" leg before but when I found out who was umpiring I wasn't overly surprised as he has a habit of not giving plumb ones out but at the same time will usually give 1 or 2 shockers a game (think missing leg stump by a long way...). Apparently they weren't too happy with your umpire either but I can't remember what they told me now - also said he stormed off without shaking hands.

Alan wasn't impressed by the constant appealing. He is a genuinely decent bloke, but as as I suspect Robbie would agree, getting an LBW out of him is like getting blood from a stone. In the 3/4 years he has umpired for us I think I've only managed to get half a dozen decisions from him. He doesn't give LBW if he has any shred of doubt, they have to be stone dead plumb for him to give them.

Walked in at 44-6
We're soon about 50-9
I hit 73 and our number 11 blocked out for us to get to 138 all out...
They knocked it off 5 down and I had 2 wickets...
A reasonable day for me but marred by the loss

Sounds like a good umpire then, if there is any doubt.. Not out

As a bowler I agree with this!
An umpire can ruin a game by being trigger happy and giving everything. However, I can't recall ever seeing a game ruined by constant not out decisions.

Well I was meant to be playing today and tomorrow, but illness put a stop to that. Now up to a grand total of 1 game played, 7 missed (and 1 rained off).

I just get the feeling 2016 isn't going to be my year, roll on the 2017 season!  :(
