My rear end is still sore from what happened yesterday! Just look at the scorecard and make your own minds up

Cruikshank is class, we played against him in his 2/3 game for Bury and he smoked us for 120 odd and it was so good to watch hit the ball so clean and hard

Played against Banstead today in a 35 over. Was at #7 and was 9 off 6 before apparently edging, completely ridiculous.

However we put up 274 and they got nowhere near it. Run out early on and chased the ball down pretty well, so good stuff.

Average day in the office. On a tired deck I took 7-1-23-1 but it should of been a lot better. Had no luck,  balls spat and did too much,  Flew off the outside edge over fielders and when they were giving catching practise they landed between fielders. Top it all keeper missed a regulation stumping off the guy who got 93. The delivery I got a wicket with was a bit of a Warne ball,  pitched outside leg and bowled him behind his legs as it turned back. My younger team mates got smashed around and 225-5 off 35 was too much to get.  Didn't get much time to bat and slashed a cut to backward point for not many,  but it was all rather irrelevant by then.

Season I think is finally over,  though there was some talk of getting a game next week. Fingers crossed.

Finished off our league season on Saturday with a pleasing win. Picked up 3-11 off 6 overs to top the 2nd XI bowling averages and have also taken the most wickets. Quite pleased with the latter since I only joined the club exactly half way through the season.

Sunday played a friendly over at Drighlington and we ended up winning what turned out to be a very good game. The first wicket in both innings came courtesy of the best catches you'll see all season in any form of cricket, the second of these was a Ben Stokes special one handed pouch in the gulley region off a very nicely timed cut shot, while the earlier one was a caught and bowled from a shot absolutely smashed back at the bowler. Anyhow we only got 138 off 40 overs and the opposition seemed to be cruising at 90-4 with 15 overs to go but then lost 3 wickets in 6 deliveries and ended up all out around 18 runs short. A local junior was playing for opposition, bowling left arm wrist spin off just a couple of paces but he could turn it nearly square. The lad could be some cricketer if he gets the right coaching.

Only if you prepare tired turning decks that make average spinners look lethal ;)

Ended the season as champions after beating our nearest and dearest rivals who were in 2nd place on the 2nd to last weekend.

Personally had a decent season as captain, and consistent with the bat but didnt quite kick on enough and had some real stinking decisions.

Still better than our overseas and his season, he ended up averaging 17 with the bat after coming with a big reputation, then to top it off, the girl he really likes and had planned to meet up with this weekend on an end of season piss up in headingley, has decided she isnt coming along now as she's been chatting with another fella, and its only bloody Jack Brooks. Me and the rest of the lads couldnt believe it and find it hilarious. Jack's a better cricketer as well

It could also be Pete down the pub. But being dumped for Jack Brooks sounds better to your teammates...

Almost definitely the last game now lol.  Started badly for me.  Rained prior to starting so the wicket was a little fresh.  Opened the batting and faced the first ball. Good length ball that popped,  took the top of the glove,  went over my head and landed on off stump.  Out first ball of the game!

Anyway,  we knocked up an above par 185 in 30 overs which we defended comfortably by 30+ runs.  Ran through the top order,  picking up 6-1-11-3 and had another catch dropped. Been picking up wickets for fun since I've come back from injury,  just a shame the season has to finish. Felt distinctly chilly this evening fielding,  so maybe nature is telling me something!

Bat crack aside a good win to finish the season off. We put up 232 off 40, they only had 9 and we got them all out for 150 odd. Fielded pretty well and always feels good when you're involved and the ball follows you a bit, although my left arm is in absolute agony.

Time for a nice long rest

Well you lot treasure the last few games

It's been perfect cricket weather in London and no one at my club organised any games. I really like playing after the league has finished too.

Far as I'm concerned we should be playing right up till the end of September!
