Generally a GM L.E. stalwart, ive taken the plunge this year and grabbed myself a pair of the Kookaburra 1000L -gauntlet (didnt like the 1250's found the wrist protection overly stiff and abit too bulky) with their much publicised Kookaburra catching cup (KCC) with the slightly forward set thumb and drawn in little finger that supposedly "uses unique padding and flex points within the palm to provide a perfect enclosure around the ball" and do you know what?...... it does!
Ive been keeping for the best part of 15 years now and have a fair idea of what im doing, the KCC surprised me how well it works - especially stood up to the quicks indoor. Not much change with regards to spinners but certainly noticeable with pace on the ball. Still havent had an outdoor sesh with them yet so I hope they are as nice stood back as they are up - I imagine they will be.
The one thing i would say is that they can bite you in the (No Swearing Please) if it doesnt go in well (I know that could be said about most gloves) but moreso with the kooks, That being said if you use them well they are a dream. If I was doing a golf review I would say the glove is suited to a lower handicap golfer if you know what i mean? The GM is a lovely glove and I will be keeping last years set in the bag and that is certainly a glove that can suit all!
Apologies, gone off on a bit of a review tangent.... but thats whats in my bag.
