how to maintain the energy levels through out the day?

Guys, I am wondering if you can give me inputs on how to maintain the energy levels through out the day (40 over match)?

I play in T.X, USA and its gets bloody hot and humid. Its already in 26c and it will go up to 38c in peak summer.
Most of the times I feel low on energy while fielding. I want to get better ... I plan on drinking lots of water throughout
the week and do some kind of training (2 days) and cardio (1 day) a week. I think I use some help on game day in terms
of what I drink and eat....do you guys recommend any thing in particular?

The salt will help retain at least 2 litres of water

I've scored both my midweek tons after a towered wicked zinger box meal!!


Proper people will say stock up on carbs. Pasta, rices etc.


If you want to buy supplement type things, then try myprotein, they do powder moxes to make into drinks to take before all sorts of sports and marathons etc to keep you energised longer.

Start with slow release energy giving porridge about an hour before start time  then bananas during match breaks.

I'm not fanatic about it..but the paleo/primal way of eating really helps. Will take a few weeks for your body to get used to it, but much more sustained energy during the day. Lots of athletes are doing it. Well worth a Google.

I am trying over night oats with chia seeds, greek yogurt, milk, banana and nuts 1.30 hr before game and 4 - 6  bananas along with 1 gallon of water during the course of the game. This seems to work so far.

That's about 9 pints - I'd never be on the field!!!

Yeah, our 40 over games start at 9.30 am and can easily last till 5:30 - 6:00 pm. So, gallon is not that bad assuming you bat for at-least 10 -15 overs :)
ofcoz this is all for peek summer days.
