Refurb on an Ebay "Bargin?!"

My old man picked this up off the bay of E for a measly  35 notes, cant complain of that. And he likes it and says it goes well

Ill see what the bat looks like after the lovely stickers are off and under the layer upon layer of oil

do you think they have tried to read his signature and just 'interpreted' the last name?
