Speaking of solitaire not a fan of them either! has roger ever made a bat under 2.13? haha.

From what I understand, Roger actually thought he was making the right weights but was using an ancient set of scales that were totally off - apparently he now has digital scales so it shouldn't be an issue anymore! But yes, my first bat was easily 3lbs heavier than expected lol

Edit - 3oz heavier, I'm no caveman

3lb heavier than expected? Did he just send you the trunk of a Willow tree or something?

A few players at my club have got solitaire bats and are impressed with them, a number of kids have too.

I think the attraction of the Fearnley kit for clubs is that it stays the same year after year so you can always get the same gear for new players etc

Interesting on Wikipedia its says they still hand make about 5000 bats a year out of the  Worcester.

This comment has been there for a long time (at least 6 years if I remember correctly), probably no one really took the pain to update the details. I own a Duncan Fearnley Classic 5* (newer version) which is very good but the finish is not upto the level expected from a company which used to make bats for legends of yesteryears.

we went there the other day and bought some bails for the county ground unfortunately i didnt get to go along.

i agree with the players bats though some of them are stickered up as LE and such like look ugly as hell. they seem to go fairly well though. surprised how many have pro direct sponsorship

Ex club pro was sponsored by fearnley. Had 2 of the 5* bats, and also a 3lb batwing which was an absolute beast. All went well despite not looking the best.

I popped into fernley and i agree the bats in offer were neither cheap or ideal. Like mentioned before some of the other kit available was of excellent value and bought a helmet for a teammate

I concur with most of the posts from here.
Went in the other day to have a look but wasn't a great choice especially for the price given what I've seen on offer from the forum sponsors and then makes like Hawk and Solitaire in Worcester.
