This is it pure and simple - interview with Mark Robinson after the T20 semi-final loss -

http://www.skysports.com/cricket/news/31996/10223256/mark-robinson-says-fitness-cost-englands-women-against-australia

The new coach believes that Charlotte doesn't fit into his plans going forwards and she was given the opportunity to 'retire' before not being selected.

I just hope it doesn't backfire on him, because it doesn't matter how fit you are to run 2's if you get bowled 1st cherry up!

uk saunders and others smelling a rat here I think this is just breaking on the news.

I think it's fair to say there is more to come out and we are going to hear.

Basically retire or be dropped. Shame really, feel the ecb owes her the oppertunity to retire on her own terms.

I was literally just about to post this link!

nuff said really, she wanted to continue, Robinson didn't want her there.

it will definitely be interesting to see how they get on now she is gone.

I do despair sometimes how we treat our sportspeople. Yes I know it's the pro game, yes it's results driven, get all that.......

I just think the ECB sometimes is it's own worst enemy, they take two guns and shoot themselves in both feet. They want professionalism and a winning team whether it's men or women and then behave like a bunch of total ameteurs.

I understand shes no spring chicken, but youd think you could carry her as she more than makes up for it with the bat, until she decides the time is right for her. Im not sure what their schedule is like this year?

I hope it backfires on this coach and the ECB and the team are shown up. Sure they might be fit but half the team are pathetic at batting!! Without Edwards and Taylor they literally have nothing !! Knowing a few of the girls playing for England jnr sides.. The standard is t getting better any time soon!!

ECB utter clowns yet again. Sad really, I enjoyed watching the women's game but won't be following it until this clown has been fired.

It's sad that a magnificent cricketer has been forced out TBH. Charlotte Edwards was a great player and she was still playing at a high level. 10,000 odd runs and captaining her country 10 years. She deserved better. Shame also as she was a cutie pie as well 😉

I read these posts and seriously worry for the future of the game
The ecb show no common sense,no loyalty ,no faith and certainly no respect.
These people run? Our game, and are left unchecked to do as they please.

I played cricket years ago with Arran brindle, and the way she was treated by England cricket then   Was horrendous .
It looks like nothing's changed and the game will continue in it's decline, due to these morons being allowed to govern and dictate it's future

Well, as we've seen over KP etc... Plenty see willing to just keep paying up to say they are off to see England and so to them, what they are doing is working

Profits up
More money coming in

To them, it's all good. Only way to stop them is to stop goigm to England games and stop paying sky but you know that won't happen so it's a case of accept it or actually boycott them

Anyone and I mean anyone who thinks they have the interests of th game or even long term thinking are deluded
