Mana or Supernova
« on: May 19, 2016, 07:07:12 PM »

So after looking for a little and asking a previous topic.
I'm again in need of a new piece of willow.
I'm thinking either GM Mana, after looking at their bat selector, and thinking it through I do like the Mana,
In the opposite corner I do also like the Grays Supernova, as I'm aware quite similar bats
So Forum help please
Also not interested in other brands or bats its solely between these TWO.

Thanks

The Mana is a Short Blade Long Handle (or T20 style, if you prefer) while the Supernova is a traditional Short Handle.

Some people struggle to get on with the shorter blade, while a lot of people don't even notice it until you point it out.

Supernova every time for me, obviously personal preference but in a room full of bats (Kooks/Spartan/GM/NB etc etc) the Supernova stood out for me-really nice feel/pick up.

Very similar? Felt very different to me when I've picked them up in a local shop, I'd definitely advise trying to have a look before you decide. Would go for the Mana peesonally, wasn't blown away by either on feel in the hands though.

I really like the supernova - great shape.

Not a fan of yours he GM range this year, feels a little staid, but that's just me.

We have plenty of choice of both mate. The mana is a somewhat fuller profile compared to the supernova too

606 from GM. The lower end Supernova model names escape me but something like a Powerblade or Strike from memory

Send me a pm and I'll send some photos tomorrow :)

The GM Mana would certainly get our vote. We've seen some really nice blades this year from across the GM range, so for £115, the Mana 606 would certainly be our choice.

A pal at the club had a monster of a supernova. Weighs 3lb2 and feels nowhere near it's weight when I waved it about. Lovely shape too

That sounds like the Supernova Extreme. Really big bat with a full profile and extra thick edges. We have a selection of them available at the moment with weights ranging from under 3lbs to a big old 3lbs 6oz!
