Far too big for me, I might be able to handle a XP70 for a quick 30 odd

From Gccc it is more expensive than kaboom and 50+
500 for the bat another 25 for shipping and probably another 100 on customs?

Customs is what puts me off from getting anything from Aus. Ridiculous prices

What was M&H's bat with relatively small edges but massive spine?  Quite high middle?

Do you have to pay customs if you were to get it 'gifted' by Australian relatives?

That's the one!  Does that mean GN have copied a shape from 5 years ago...

needed to grab some new gear from the local store, while I was there, as always headed over to swing a few sticks.
All the new on for GN were in stock, so spent my time within that range. XP 70/ XP 80. 50+, elites and slivers.
My initial impression of the XP was woo, the pickup was incredible for the size of the swell but after a convo I was having with another punter who was also swinging bats, told me that he was there to pick out a new bat as the XP he just brought was being exchanged unwarranty. Shoulder crack was attempt to be repair by GN (glue) but the repaired failed, I guess that can happen with any bat and at least the customer was being look after, which is also my experience with aus GN.

However it prompt me to re look at the XP and my initial impression turn to , insane, crazy, extreme and I mean that in a bad way. 70/80 mm spine is massive and the shoulders and toes are where they have made some serious weight reductions. Perhaps they have gone just too far particularly with the light/med weight ones, a lot of wood hanging of those skinny shoulder.

The XP80 is so big you just giggle and laugh when holding it and swinging it, probably the way you would if you took a Ferrari for a test drive.

I'm really impressed with the XP70 and Elite bats. Stunning bats at a much more digestible price.

I have one coming to me on Wednesday for knocking. Owner has a GN XP70 1200, GN Silver and as of Friday a XP80 2000. I have asked him to bring around all three for comparison photos. I'll post a link to my photos next week and the obligatory post knock video when done.

Have to agree. Held a couples of XP80 in the shop and thought they were 2.9 and they were much heavier. I was going to buy a cheap XP70 650 this week but I actually didn't like the handle feel on second try. XP80 is just so imposing.
