Asics ODI, Advance 6 or Gully 5?
« on: June 10, 2016, 04:33:41 PM »

Looking at a new pair of spikes, love Asics so looking for any opinions on the merits of the above 3. Are the ODIs really that much better than the advances and the gullies to justify the price? And is there that much different between the advances and gullies other than colours and trim?
All help much appreciated.

I have the gully 3 and the gel 6. Use the gully for fielding/bowling as its close to a trainer. The gel advance for batting as its very stiff!

I've got the gel advances
Love em, best cricket footwear I've had in 40yrs of playing
Managed to hit my left toe with the bat and get hit on the same toe with the ball last week, with no worries at all.
Ok for batting bowling fielding and the players I've recommended them to, have been well chuffed also

I have to agree with that; I had the Gel Gully 3 (red and black ones) previously, and they were excellent shoes, but the Advance 6 are outstanding and the best I have worn in my 40 years of playing. They are light for batting in, provide great toe protection and are also stable enough to bowl in (albeit medium-slow pies in my case)! :(

I've got the Asics ODI spikes and I'm a massive fan. Look great and a massively comfortable and light. They're only a few quid more on Pro direct and places like that anyway.
