I'm a longtime guest and follower of this forum but this is a first time post!

Just looking for a bit of advice. My trusty Adidas SL 22 spikes finally gave up the ghost at the weekend and split/disintergrated so i'm looking around quickly to try get a new pair for this weekend.

I've been looking at the Puma evo speed 1.4 boots. I used to have a pair of Puma spikes before the Adidas ones which i loved and found very comfy regards the fit but that was a few years ago now. So am considering going back to Puma now seeing as those are more like what i prefer to wear in games. I don't bowl often due to a dodgy back and knee, only occasionally 1 or 2 step in overs if needed. So spend most of my time batting/fielding and prefer a more lightweight spike that doesn't feel too clumpy on my feet.

Has anyone got a pair of these and how does the sizing come up with them? My old ones were a 9 and my Adidas spikes are a 9, which fit perfectly. Just so i know whether to get a 9 or an 8.5 if they come up a little larger than the Adidas ones. My old Puma spikes and current Adidas have the same fit but i don't know if Puma has changed their size since. I believe they're the Calibre spikes, all i know is i found them extremely comfortable and ideal for what i do!

I've got a pair of 1.4's, White and Orange(Lava). They're very comfy, but please note that they are half spikes, only on the front, with the plastic studs for want of a better word on the heel. I use them for batting as the half spike helps with forward movement but makes changing direction (Fielding) a little more tricky. I use a pair of full spikes for fielding.

Size wise, they are fine for length, if you're a 9, get a 9. However, you may find that they are a little narrow due to the speedframe technology. If you've got fat feet you may struggle!

Thanks for that! I've plumped for the 9 in them as i don't have wide feet!

I use half spike anyway for everything as i just prefer the comfort and when i was younger getting used to spikes i found having spikes on the heel really annoying and that i'd catch my heels in the ground all the time so have used half spike ever since!

To be honest the club i play for the ground is an absolute road! Even on a wetter day! You could get away with just trainers to bat and field in if required!
