The currency issues especially in the uk post brexit certainly don't help with all of my previous post.

Currency weakness is certainly helping foreign customers to buy from UK retailers. I know a part order from my team placed with Uzi sports. They brought 4-5 Kook players bats !

In the last couple of years there has been a massive increase in price regarding cricket kit it's now getting so expensive to buy kit that's why people prefer te smaller brands and a lot of the time you get much better quality that the leading brands, I certainly won't be purchasing anymore lot from the major brands and will be sticking to boutique brands

I don't think equivalent quality through boutique brands is that much cheaper, is it?

I don't think smaller brands are cheaper now, they have mainly joined the price rises because they can (maybe 10-20 quid less but that's nothing really). Kit is expensive now, overly so but .. But... We the consumers are paying it so from a pure money making factor.. There is no need to reduce prices.

I take issues to mass produced bats being made by non professionals and made for cheap, charging the same as those smallers brand who are more skilled and don't mass produce

The same person that started this thread is the one that isn't seeing a problem with paying over 500 quid for a M&H that's made in India😂😂😂😂😂

I know you will think im a bit biased and im not selling here (this has already gone) however I have found quality in the majority of boutique brands to come at a lower price than mainstream stuff.

This just went for £120!

There are lots more examples of quality at lower cost out there too. Some on this forum!

If i had to pay 500 quid for a 500 quid bat i would be disappointed in myself. Thats not how the bat buying game is played.
But i believe that businesses have the right to outsource work/cut costs provided the quality of product they provide does not suffer.

Your not wrong. At £85 I have seen some bats that are much more that don't look or tap up as good.

I agree with what you are saying. What I have found though is that more specific and specialized your specs are, the higher the price you will have to pay; and, it makes sense. GN can charge what they charge for the big Warner bat because it is rare to match the exact specs. I recently requested an el-cheapo for nets in my regular bat weight (only requirement) without stickers/marking. What I got is a trampoline for an unbelievable price!

I remember seeing a GN Legend for £400 in Barrington Sports that looked just like this. Why the big brands have to mark up the sticks by so much I don't know.

I agree. I have just got a couple more of the next grade up from this which still sells at £100. I suppose some of it is to do with clever marketing and telling your mates that you have bought a LE bat at £400+ so it must be good.

I have seen the Kook Ghost on here and online and the stickers (or decals if you prefer) are spot on however when it boils down to it they are around £200+ in most places and are a grade 3 bat so chances are you are not going to get the stunning bat that is shown on the marketing pics.

Oops, I had little bit of a rant then ha ha. And relax.....

And some other ULYSSES L.E for $1000.00

And then you have Cenkos for £1000 plus shipping

@shax12 - Try one of these and see if it helps finding the middle?
