Hello all,

Niche question, one for the real cricket badgers. I've got to buy a set of cricket stumps - what is the difference between a set that costs £25 and then something like these bad boys http://www.romida.co.uk/gray-nicolls-wickets-28-ash-stumps-cat-no-001008.html

At a quick glance id assume materials & branding, the ASH stumps appear to be the more expensive, so id guess its a superior material. Also the GN stumps are 30quid more than the romida ones, although they appear identical except for the brand name.

I know the materials are different (i.e. Ash vs. redwood) but wondered if anyone has any specific experience of why Ash is considered the bst?

I guess they are all made in India, but then Ash is probably sourced in England? Or are some English made?

As above - the cheaper set will be weakened over time if they get hit a lot. But, they're 1/3 the price so..! Regulation size so they should be identical in dimension.
