The Kaha looks like a remake of the ICON from a few seasons back. Softs look amazing.

Looks as though there is only one bat in the range that is a standard length and that's the chrome, the softs look amazing and so goes the keeping gear love the White/silver combo think they could be a great seller this season

The Chrome and Paragon are both standard blade lengths.

The Kaha is about as far away from an Icon as it is possible to be. Low middle compared to the Icons high middle, with a big bulbous swell almost like a Zona compared to the long flowing spine of the Icon. The Paragon is closest to the Icon.

I find it surprising that only two bats have regular blade length in the entire range. In so much as the shorter blade lengths are advertised as helping greater bat speed etc, my personal experience is that shorter blade lengths and longer handles do not help a batsman in having control on shots apart from maybe helping in slog type shots. Also, short blade length bats do not give a batsman confidence in playing shorter straighter deliveries that rise high. In addition, despite being advertised as having better pickup, the pickup is worse as you hold the bat higher up the handle, so from physics, you need to apply greater force to move the bat the same amount compared to when you hold it closer to the blade, due to the lever effect...Lastly not to mention that those who are used to holding the bat closer to the blade will find it necessary to change their technique to hold the bat higher up with the shorter blade bats as otherwise they would risk being yorked... So all in all, find it really surprising that GM has gone massively in this direction..

Just my 2 cents from my experience with the kudos which is not even that much of a short blade but still a short blade bat..

Just following on from this, still having serious willow envy in the light of my retirement. I managed to acquire a beautiful example of the new range. Obviously a mana, based on last season's efforts before dispatching to a teammate. I am so in love with these stickers, originally didn't think that I would be but they look class with the blood orange colour contrasting against the black textured background of the main stickers  :o If you're a stickler for appearance of a brand, GM have made an absolute dream of a choice in colours and I'm sure whatever anyone chooses will look as class as these. But there's no existence of the bat without pictures, so please feast your eyes on this beaut.

I suppose, once you become willow addict, you WILL ALWAYS be a willow addict for life... Can't wait to see the other bats in the range  :D I'll do a full review once my brother gives it some use!

^ I don't do GM either. They are too hard pressed and take a long time to open up. A friend has a Six-6 Joe Root in light weight and no ping.

The GM 909 gloves with Joe Root thumb (small men's size) have poor to no ventilation although comfortable with great protection. I gave mine away because my hands would get sweaty after 10 overs. I switched to Newbery Club gloves which have very nice ventilation.

Oh, interesting to hear. We pioneered many years ago GM Now so that a bat is knocked in, ready to play straight away, as this is how we prepare pro bats. Thanks for the feedback.

Kind regards

There is a very simple solution for this... Don't bat for 10 overs! ;)
