ASAIK, SG doesn't encourage entry to their factory premises unless you are a contract player of theirs or you have a good link in the company. SS, SM Pintu and BDM are open for walk in customers. I would suggest you to do visit BDM factory even if you don't buy from them. All are based out of Meerut and some of them are at walking distance from each other.

Anyone visiting dehi should visit ONLY SPORTS. I can tell you by experience that its the best shop in INDIA. The guy which runs it is a delhi ranji player and the collection is the best i have seen. He hamd picks his bats from all the suppliers,  SM PINTU bats you will find are made by him with his own hands and above all an amazing chap to deal with.

You wont be disappointed visiting him.

I think what requires more in buying from desi stores, is the negotiating skills.

The seller knows that you will ask to cut the price by 30% so he already tells you the price at an additional 50%.
You also know that he has left room for negotiation of 30 odd percent so you try to offer 60%  below the retail price and end up paying 30 odd percent after some fierce back n forth negotiation.

There is actually a bigger trick if you are a buyer in desi environment. Do NOT indulge into verbal negotiation.
Put the money you want to pay on the table and then name it. Soon as the seller sees cash, his mental barrier to not let the merchandise go on a cheaper price, shatters into pieces. And he gives up sooner than you think.

Were we discussing quality or price and the negotiations you are referring to are limited to cheap clothes market. In India, products dont have RRP they have MRP which the retailer cant change as per his convenience. 25% discount is a norm in almost all the sports outlets. So its very transparent. I dont know which retailer gave you this experience.

Yes there is a MRP in India. I think the retailers get the bats (or other products) at 50% or more discount and are happy to pass on 20-30% to consumers. Some shops are willing to negotiate a bit further though

The underlined statement above, I think that's a flat out lie. Almost every retailer in India negotiates, regardless of what the price sticker says.

Look for a DSC brand bat. I think these are truly unsung heroes of Indian bats.

Shop around and pick nice, highend one in grade 1 English Willow, and you will probably feel a better pick up than SS Ton, and SF and BDM and this and that.

Got one.. and oh boy this pings like crazy! Want to sell off everything else now .. they are contracted to produce GM bats for the Indian / Asian market. I guess.

Indian or any Asian retailers negotiate and if they try not to negotiate then don't deal with them and that will make them negotiate them self lol.

I want an SS bat. Are there any retailers that you would recommend specifically for them in Delhi? Also they need to be able to communicate on whatsapp or email since I wont be able to actually visit the shop.
