You need to be using a bat that is the right weight for you and allows you to play all strokes, vertical and horizontal bat, without any hinderance. I'd never use a bat that is too heavy or doesn't pick up nicely in the hands no matter how well it performs. I assume you bought these online? If so that is the folly of not buying from a cricket shop and picking them up in person to feel the weight/balance but also to knock them up with a mallet or some balls to test the performance. I bought my #1 bat from Meulemans and it is so good I didn't want to use it in the nets and just save it for games, so I went back and bought a 2nd that wasn't as high quality of willow (still a cracking bat!) but felt pretty much the same. I use this for nets and one-dayers. If I were you I'd sell those bats and buy one that is right for you...
