Boots for bowlers, High or Low?
« on: November 15, 2016, 10:21:37 PM »

So years ago i kept cutting the outside of my ankle underneith the bone by my boots digging in during my action, so I moved to the adidas bowling boots, ive since bowled in normal boots again without a problem (possibly not using the same amount of effort).

So the question is do i stick with bowling boots for league games and buy myself a new pair, or throw away the old pair and just use the 1 pair?

If i go with the former, which ones, adidas or something else?

I've always preferred the lightest weight boots possible myself despite bowling seam off a long run, had to change last season after a broken ankle to something with more support and went for Asics 210no which were excellent, good support etc and barely any heavier than my old Gel Advance so no problem for batting (which was a good job as in the end I barely bowled all season!). Would definitely recommend them as an all-round boot, been a while since I had a pair of Adidas but far better imo.

Give NB4040 a try.. from my experience these are very light, durable and provide good support for over pronators.
I have been using these for almost an year and probably bowled 100+ overs using these.
My adidas vectors are sitting brandnew in box waiting for NB to go bust.

A friend had some nb4040s and got a stress fracture on his foot using them so I'll pass on that, sorry!

@Vitas Cricket Do you by any chance have a few pairs of this years bowling boots to hand, to weigh them?
