So he is found guilty of cheating, loses his match fee and nothing else. Big deterrent, I am sure no one will dare to ball tamper again.

ICC are a joke once again. Either legalise it or clamp down on it completely

I agree totally! They should take the last two wins off the South Africans to teach them a good lesson!  :)

So footage has emerged of kohli using tic-tacs to shine the ball. Will he get fined?

Smith has also come out and said that's the same way the aussies shine the ball. Becoming a farce

He can't get fined as it's outside the 5 day window

I'm not sure if what Smith said was taken out of context....

What he said was every test team shine the ball... then he said every test team shine the ball the same way

its complete nonsense this whole thing. It's funny how the ICC bent rules for some players to legitamatley bowl with a bent arm and effectively leagalise throwing in cricket and make an issue of a few sweets used to shine a ball

I fully understand there are some on this forum that see ball tampering/cheating/etc but seriously is this really an issue?

it's gone on for years by every different team under the sun

I honestly think he has done nothing wrong,it's well known we did it in 2005, it's improving the condition of the ball not making it deteriorate

Respect to Steve Smith who has just said he and his team do exactly the same thing as Faf did to polish the ball!

Probably not the wisest thing he's ever said (or maybe it is!)
Just goes to show he is as gormless as he looks...

Don't degrade the ball, anything short of pocket motorised polishers goes to preserve condition. Any problems if the rules were that simple?

Really....that's it in a nutshell.
