Only seasoned vets on the forums can have meaningful unbiased opinions without ulterior motives  :)

Wow! This has made work much more interesting, and I think saying that everyone on a forum is obsessed with labels is wrong, there are plenty of people on here with blank unbranded kit..

And tbh saying forum sponsors get applauded more than others, yes that's the case but maybe that's because they provide excellent service I have bought form forum sponsored, forum members and non forum folk all of which I would consider buying from again, purely because the service was good, there's nothing wrong with that.

I think some people in this thread are forgetting people are entitled to an opinion!

I'll take the bait. So someone who prefers to listen more (read) and learn, rather than comment a lot is a noob. Wow. Objectively speaking your comment only adds to your comment count and not this discussion but the so is this comment. Lets stick to the discussion, shall we? Peace.

Ha, @shax12 @6464 - dear me no of course I don't run this forum, merely pointing out that noone is compelling mr hanif to come on here and make angry threads about how scandalous it is that someone else is importing unbranded bats, or about how popular certain members are with the ladies (very, I hear).

As for truth and facts, here's a couple: Grey imports are not illegal. Trademark infringement is illegal.

not much passing trade in the loft of a house.

Microsoft, Apple and many legitimate successful businesses were started and run from a garage or basement. It is sad to see such comments coming from seasoned forum members. I believe this sets a poor example for noobs like me.

Sir, could you for the benefit of noobs like me educate us as to what constitutes a grey import? And why it is illegal?

From my understanding - If a product is legal to trade in and is imported legally then is it still illegal?

Saying it is illegal is looking at from a black and white persepctive so mentioning 'grey' in the same statement is a paradox

All a bit confusing.

If this topic has been discussed before then i'll just search for it but I am asking since you brought it up.

Yes, I'm sure retailers would love to keep slating 'bedroom' sellers. After all, they offer exactly the same potentially just cheaper.. who wouldn't be threatened And so lash out.

Genuine retailers have nothing to fear from hobbyists, they come and go almost daily. It's almost always the unsuspecting customer that loses out.

Only things I hate from the youtube videos of the op is that 99% of the advertised bats ping unbelievably exceptionally well and bats look exceptional with very nice looking grains when a lot aren't at all.

Concerns over authenticity of products maybe?

Sir, you are right and it could be matter of concern and a valid question to ask. The only reason I commented was because I could see the inconsistencies in the arguments here. From what I have seen, Hanif has responded to all negative comments and questions raised on the authenticity of the products and has categorically stated all his products are 100% genuine. Besides has anyone offered any argument or proof that shows the products are not authentic. From his youtube videos I can see that he stocks many well-known brands also as an authorised stockist. Would these well-known bat manufacturers deal with him if he was selling fakes or of ill-repute. To my rational unbiased mind it does not seem so.

To say a bat not putchased from an authorised distributor or retailer is not authentic is not grounded in fact. If I bought a used bat of someone which is the real deal doesn't make it illegal.

Am going to lock this thread, sorry.
It feels a whole lot of odd to me, but yes the members if the forum are bias to the sponsors (the admin are grateful for their support) and we hope members continue to get great support from sponsors and other equipment sellers as well.

The original question was about the grey market which is something that individual members need to decide for the when buying kit and is not really a forum issue.
