I think that the BBL also suffers from lack of home international players.
I'd say the format of the BBL is better than the Blast, but the quality certainly isn't. The batting in the BBL is poor, with the odd exception. Look what happened to the Heat when Chris Lynn was injured/called up.

Also, Finals Day is brilliant and tops any of the other leagues for the climax of the competition.

Anyone know if this is available on any channel on Virgin Media? Was having a hunt through earlier and couldn't find anything.

Most of the forum might disagree though. They rate the blast highly because it's an English product ;).
I've said it on here before even the CPL is better than the blast. Can't run a competition with 18 sides and your home international players not playing.

Completely agree that you can't run 18 sides without your home international players playing. That is too many teams for a start.

Good thing about the PSL is that it's only 5 teams with all the best international Pakistani players to select and with some overseas stars. Still can do with some more big names. But all 5 teams are on par with each other and it's hard to predict which team will win it. Any of the 5 teams can win it which makes it exciting and interesting.

I think the problem with the PSL and to a degree the IPL are the pitches.

I don't know if it's just where I've been bought up but for me one of the great spectacles of cricket is a fast bowler running in bowler a hostile, threatening spell of bowling (Think Mitchell Johnson when he tore us apart in the Ashes), in Dubai/India the pitches are just completely flaccid and offer absolutely nothing to the seamers and make them cannon fodder which, to me anyway, means the competition loses a certain something.

For me, the BBL is probably the worst quality of the lot (RAM slam & Blast are close) but is the best entertainment of the lot to watch as it rewards talent in all areas of the game.

Agree with that. Last year at the PSL they were really slow wickets in all the games. This year their slight improvement. Two out of the 4 games played so far this PSL wicket has got bit pace and bounce in it compare to normal UAE pitches but not as much as Australian pitches.

Agree. He hasn't found it easy in the PSL. Had a few good innings out of about 12 last year and didn't do much in the first game yesterday. His team playing later on today let's see if he can fire.

Isn't the whole point of 2020 to be a hit a thon? Flat feather beds are the Order of the day. Serve up a sporting wicket for hitters and you'll have destroyed the point of 2020

Tanvir bowls 12 back foot no balls in a row and nothing called or even looked at.

As soon as a wicket falls the third umpire is asked and it's called.

Should be called earlier so bowlers can adjust! Not merely Called once the wicket falls.

Tournament is rubbish. No atmosphere whatsoever. Of the second tier events the CPLis head and shoulders above these Mickey Mouse events like BPL/PSL

The checking for no balls on wickets does my head in, especially in short form games. Every ball counts, so if it's a no ball it needs to be given for the extra run extra ball and free hit, that is just from the batting point of view, but as you say the bowlers can adjust if they know they're going wrong, but if they aren't being told then they will keep doing it. Amir could be bowling massive no balls for all we know as long as he doesn't take a wicket with one, we won't know!

It's because it's being played in UAE and not in Pakistan. Watch the final of the PSL which will be help in Pakistan and then you would know what atmosphere is.
And the quality of cricket and players is way ahead of the English T20 competition, CPL, BBL and others. Likes of De Villiers would played too but unfortunately their games are clashing with the PSL.

Quality of cricket better than BBL or CPL? What you drinking? Quality is awful. Someone like Kamran Akmal looked a world beater when he a proven flop at international level

Tbf it's probably on par with the blast as that has some horrendous players in it. Bbl has had some ransoms too mind.
