Their logo is a brilliant design - simple, but immediately evocative of what the brand is all about.

No way should they change it.

Yeah, maybe, but for me what the brand is all about, is the 1980s. I'm just not convinced that is a progressive marketing plan.

Magnums were THE bat on my local patch back in the day, with Symonds Tuskers and SS Jumbos added to the mix. My bat was from new upstart company Newbery...

yeah me too...I remember at 14 or 15 going to the sports shop with my mum wanting the bat Richards and Gooch used, The Magnum. I remember very well the shop telling me it was too heavy for me...Did I listen? no of course not  :)
I walked out with my birthday present happy as could possibly be

in the rack in the shop was an SS Jumbo, magnum and GN powerspot and not much else-all in a wooden rack.

funny the things you remember as kid.....

Isn't this the reason we spend so much time on here in middle-age?

Like many on here, one of my school mates who i played cricket with had his uncles DF magnum (around 92/93), it was hands down the best bat i've ever used but it was like a railway sleeper so none of us could us it in a game, just in the nets.

I had a DF MAX POWER which i bought around 1995, it was a gun, i only stopped using it 2013 when it fell apart.  I got some stick from the younger members of the club about it until i launched two successive deliveries over the clubhouse during one game.  Sadly about a week later it broke into a thousand pieces.

I am a big DF fan, i was very happy that to see that when i took my umpires course all the umpire stash is DF!

Great days of everlasting summer holidays at nets and DF bats!

yep my 1st bat was an SS Jumbo which weighed as much as i did but Gooch played with it so i was going to open the batting with it as well. And to be honest it worked quite well cos i only had to get any sort of bat on anything and it raced away the thing was so heavy  :D :D

i'll go out on a limb here (expecting posts disagreeing  :)) but IMHO (!) the Original SS jumbo was the most indestructible weapon ever made

the handles on those things were incredibly strong

it really was a game changer back-in-the day

Magnums were the bat then  :D

Newbery? Ahh, in those days they were all UK made and made by JN and then TK. Those were the days! How times have changed!  ;)

I don't know.... Gooch and guys like Wayne Larkins(remember him as a pinch hitter after 10 pints and 20 benson and hedges) had SS jumbos

Gooch I think then went to the Magnum(might be wrong) then after GAG hit 300 against the Indians the SS Turbo 333 came out, and Gooch used the SS I think until he retired.

It was a big bat the 333 .....seem to remember some people saying it was a laminate...not really sure on that.

I think gooch used the magnum prior to his SS deal. DFs were huge in the early mid 80s, notably Viv, Border, Botham, who had the career contract. Viv moved on to slazenger, but I think Border stuck with his DF until he retired. Could be wrong! Martin crowe another notable magnum user...

I remember thensports shops in the 80s and 90s, all GN, GM, DF. Kooks from the early 90s. Heady days!!

Remember Wayne larkins and the other 10 pints   Northants  England pinch hitter Colin Milburn also  Northants   David Steele looked more like a Barclays Bank manager than someone who took on  Lillee and Thomson. Roberts Holding and Daniel without  an helmet   Wonder if he's eaten all these pork chops he was sponsored for  every  test run he scored.
