I don't think that helps thou when it comes to bats. Major parts origin is uk, English willow...it's then shipped overseas and comes back

What is the origin of an Indian made bat from English willow that arrives here to have stickers put on it and sanded on a machine to finish....

I'm not being awkward I'm interested what answer people have to that. That's the tricky bit. Most of the bat we use are English willow bats, by definition origin is uk....

"Something similar"

So a tag hangin from the bat, or a removable sticker, or even made part of the label on the rear/edge.!

Main Parts origin- England(English willow)
Main point of manufacture- India(ss factory)
Final finish- England millichamp.

Works for all sorts.

Main part origin- India(Kashmir willow)
Main point of manufacturer- Pakistan(ca factory)
Final finish - Pakistan(ca factory)

Would help when buying a gray nics

Main part origins- England(English willow)
Main point of manufacturer - inda(gray nics factory)
Final finish- India (gray nics factory)

Put that back and pick up.

Main part origin - England(English willow)
Main point of manufacture England(gray nics robertsbridge)
Final finish- England(gray nics robertsbridge)

Wait? Did the OP say that SS don't make bats??

He spoke of SS and Duncan Fearnley during the old school playing days, so he could be meaning the Stuart Surridge brand rather than the Indian-based SS/Ton?

Great post and interesting discussion...As has been mentioned many times in the forum, the forum is a very small percentage of bat buying public who are interested in this information. 99% of the public only care of which bat they "know" or "heard" as works well based on their prior use/ friend at a club or what the retailer told him works best for him. They dont know or even dont care much about where or who made the bat..And despite all the issues mentioned by OP about current market, modern bats perform well without needing months of knocking up time and if a bat works well from day 1 and helps score lot of runs for a year or two, most folks are ok or even quite happy with that ..
