Replaced by Ball - that makes 5 pace bowlers and 1 spinner (plus Root) so it is obviously not a wicket likely to turn too much!?
If Stokes was absolutely 100% fit and able to bowl 10 overs, I can't help but wonder whether they would consider playing Bairstow. Or whether selectors prefer that extra bowler as a backup?

Feel bad for Rashid, spend 2 years backing him and then drop him for the opening game of a major tournament? Only two players worldwide (Zampa and Hastings) took more ODI wickets than Rashid in 2016.

Bizarre that, played Rashid as the sole spinner against Ireland and Morgan backed him as the no1 bowler. Must be something going on we don't know.

He's probably tired again....!

I've got a feeling it's more to do with the fitness of Stokes and Woakes that it is Rashid's place in the side.

Rashid isn't a strong wicket taking option against a Bangladeshi side that have plenty of strong spinners to play against domestically I guess?

I'm glad the game hasn't started, because I dreamt about Bangladesh winning!

If I wasn't going to play Rashid, and was only 90% sure that Stokes was fit enough to bowl, then I would have given Stokes an extra couple of days and selected:

Roy
Hales
Root
Morgs
Bairstow
Buttler
Ali
Woakes
Plunkett
Wood
Ball

Live on Sky and highlights on BBC2 at 11:20 tonight.

They'll have highlight clips on the BBC site, Twitter etc throughout the game.
