It makes me very sad to see this happen to DF.  If they were still offering really good kit (and they might be i just don't want to risk it) i would be fully kitted out. I grew up with DF and they will always have a big place in my heart.

I know they have a big market in all the umpiring gear, we got a big flashy catalogue when i did my umpiring course. I wonder if this is enough to keep them ticking along?

I always love it on forums when an old thread just pops into life and no one bats an eye.

I just had a quick browse on the DF site... £440 for their top end offering. Bargain.

I had assumed they were another SD brand... but maybe not.

I popped in the other week. Softs seem very poor, but the bats which they make in the factory there are all absolute stunners! They press them flat, so no bow in the blade, but apart from that they seem to be fairly big for the weight as well.

Just the price is a bit steep for what is a failing brand, which seems to survive by its club whites and kit sales, and being the place that all the school kids go to get their cricket stuff! When I was at primary school, EVERYONE had a cheap fearnley bat, which could only be told apart by everyones initials/names being scribbled over them in permanent marker!

Yeah that's a very strange move I get some company's have other brands of shoes like paynter at salix etc but not the whole kit surely that can only harm their own range?
could be wrong but
Think it's more to do with where certain   NB bats are made

I bought an Atom last season, well the back end of the season. It's a decent size bat and picks up well along  with tapping up well.

If you're patient enough you'll find offers throughout the year offering decent money off their bats. Mines was less than 200 so over half price.
I am aware this bat technically doesn't exist without pictures!
