MB Malik Lala Edition
« on: April 06, 2017, 09:35:32 PM »

Here are few details of MB Malik Lala Edition bat i recently got directly from MB Malik factory in Sailkot. My friend in MB Malik sent me pics of a bat which was one of the few made for Mohammed Hafeez (Pakistan Team opener) for his recent tour of West Indies. With 9 straight grains & a very light pickup this is one of best bats i have in my small collection. Stickers are embossed but too many for my taste and pretty much covering the whole back. I will let the pics do the talking. Below are the specs & details.

Weight: 2-11
Edge: 51 mm
Spine: 71 mm
Toe: 32 mm at center & 22 mm at the edge.
Sweet spot: Mid-High
Handle: Round standard thickness.
Profile: Moderately concaved with spine running to the toe. Pronounced bow with thick toe.
Ping Level: Ceiling destroyer and on-par with my GN50+.
Con: 105 mm width  :(

Pic from the factory before all the stickers were applied. Definitely not a laminate.

Surely that "fully knocked" sticker is false advertising.
Careful you don't cut yourself on those sharp edges!

Looks like someone has already given that face a bit of a workout judging by the seam marks left behind

HUGE bat for the weight, who cares if it's 3mm short in width if it's packing in that much wood! If it's on par with the GN50+ while being light enough to wield, that's always got to be a good buy! How much did this set you back? The MB Lala edition I knocked in a while back was 2.12, concaved pretty heavily and much skinnier than this one!

@jd163 - Bat looks a stunner, big edges should compensated for 3mm loss of width  ;)

MB Malik brings back a lot of memories. My first bat when i started playing in the US was a MB bubber sher, used to quite popular among many people in the local leagues.

Excellent bat!

The stickers do seem too excessive with the silhouette of Afridi though :p

Marks are from bouncing a new CA ball with very rough seam.. It is oiled and now ready for the LV mallet.

huge bat for the weight. MB never disappointed me over the years. They are better than CA in my opinion.
