We played on this today

Got worse as light rain started to fall. Lost the toss and got put in, also agreed to a 30 over game. Came in at #6 and scored 9, ball that just bounced up out of nowhere, attempted pull shot flies onto my chest and then the keeper dives behind. Pah.

They were nowhere near, bowled them all out in the final over when they were 40 odd short.

Super game yesterday's at whitgiftians cc-which my team mate says is Jason Roy's old club(I don't think it was myself) we played an old fashioned 'time' game
They batted first and got 191 in 44 overs that left us about 30 overs to finish at 7pm. Slightly confused by the whole thing we managed to knock them off in 28 overs and a little 56 no for myself as a couple of our guys really put bat to ball

Lovely ground if anyone knows this club , traffic thru Croydon and tooting was a nightmare but that's London for ya  :)

Last games next weekend at little marlow and Harpesden. Then it's a long long closed season.

It sure is really do miss playing upto and including the first  Sat in October it seemed to shorten the winter

Played the final game of the seconds season yesterday. Needed a win to cement third place. Track was awful, all the grass was dead and it was really soft. We put the opposition in and they got 158 off 45 overs 5 or 6 down. We knocked it off 2 down in about 28 overs, myself and @hilly_2015 both being not out on 38 & 33 respectively.

Good end to a good first season with a new club

What @JB neglects to mention is that he made me run four 3's in a row. The call to the boundary for oxygen fell on deaf ears. Think he needs a new H4L Custom from @H4Ladam to help him get it past that boundary!

Played friendly in fairly unpleasant wet conditions yesterday. Batted first and were 12-4. Came in on a hat-trick ball, saw it off and cut my next ball for 4. Spent the rest of the innings nudging and watching our 1st team batter smack a hundred. We put on 115 before i holed out and we eventually finished on 203-7 off 40. To be honest the oppo didn't help themselves. Bowled an offie and left arm around seamer to a very short wind assisted leg boundary. In wet conditions their ball management wasn't great and after a few overs they simply couldn't control it. They never got close, even with a bowling attach consisting of one 65 year old and 4 lads under 16. We managed the ball better and bowl in better areas on a damp track. Bowled out for 117.

I thought it would've been good exercise to run @hilly_2015!! It was quite amusing when you shouted 'dear me' when I called you back for the final third run!!  :D

Very good evening - Ending up Winning the Bowling Trophy - 2nd team players player (even though I played more 1st xi games) and Clubman of the year.

A rather emotional night.

Well that is us finished for season. Our 2s under my stewardship finished second despite only losing one game (the only one I missed). Unfortunately a tie and a voided game cost us the title but we still got promoted and also reached the cup final. Our 3s won the double, 1s will finish 2nd or 3rd and newly formed 4s will finish top 4. So all in all an excellent season although weather in August could have been better! Will miss selection committee meetings and what's app group ramblings. I wonder how many days it is still til 2018 season?

Golden duck today. Got a golden there last season too. Only a friendly and we're playing 8 a side 20/20 but we were bowled out for less than 40 chasing 110.
Woeful end to the season but a good season overall.

Due to play a Sunday 40 over final today at our ground, oppo who are EAPL premier league side argued they should host as biggger ground, facilities etc ended up calling it off 90mins before due to start so that's season finished over for us.

Ended up 13 games across the season 584 runs at 49.86 per innings with 2 Hundreds so not a bad season with the bat.

Ended a pretty poor season by my standards today. Played a friendly for Firle vs Brighton Exiles, with our opener belting a 24 ball 54 retired. I batted five, smacked my third ball for four and then off the change bowler walked up the wicket and creamed it to mid wicket for 8. Ended up keeping as we had plenty of bowling, got a run out first over (we let the guy stay in as he hadn't faced a ball) and also a catch standing up to a left arm wrist spinner - first catch standing up since I kept for club u14s in indoor league nine years ago! Ended up winning by 100.

Only 39 league runs and 15 wickets for Chalfont St Giles in my last season there. So many missed chances that I could have had double easily, but despite feeling good in the middle I never got a chance. Took a few catches, probably 3-5 in the league but I'm not sure, and two run outs.

Looking forward to the new challenges coming my way with Ansty/Firle whichever I decide to play at next season, most likely Ansty. I will miss the Chalfont lads, but it's time for me to move on as I need to challenge myself and the chilterns league is so mixed that I can't do that and kick on properly.

Last game of the season today
Home friendly game at Britwell Salome
Beautiful day here,
Hopefully I can finish the season with a decent knock

Cracking game against a lovely bunch of blokes
We fielded first, bowled them out for 135 and knocked em off , just

I bowled a few, got one for a few, and scored 30ish.

Season over now, I've enjoyed playing at two new clubs and look forward to whatever next season brings

We finished the season nicely yesterday. We played 2nd in the league and we were 3rd, winner would be league runner up, with possibility of promotion (top 2 usually go up but they are restructuring leagues this year so may only be top team).

We put out weaker than usual team, I wasn't planning to play but skip was really short on bowling so changed my plans - glad I did.

Weather was great and pitch a little damp and green. Put them in and made a great start with 6 wickets down for 45 in first 12 overs, including 4 for me. They recovered slightly with 8-10 adding some runs (after I was taken off bowling  ;) ) and ended up 96 ao. Our fielding was probably the best all season, took 8 catches and only put 1 down - the skipper off my bowling (3rd time he has done that this season).

We made a steady start in response, losing wickets every so often but knocked it off with 4 down, so didn't get a bat.

So we end up 2nd and overall a pretty decent season for the team. I managed to play 8 games with 19 wickets at an average of 13.5.
