We only had 8 players today but still won managed to bat 32 of the 50 overs which was pleasing as I hadn't picked a bat up since
Last August.
Got out in an odd way went to sweep one hit the ball to short fine leg was outside the crease and  back foot spikes stuck in the pitch  and was stumped

Came in with 4 overs left to be fair and we posted 310.

They got 132/9 in their 40 overs. We batted them off 1 down in 30 overs. Got 61* batting 3.

Off the mark with a 29* to see us home. Shoved myself down the order as insurance in the run chase. Pleased toget going after a poor tour and a bad first game with the bat. Chased diwn 161 in 25 overs

Got a text at 8am this morning saying we (2nd XI) only had 6 players and the 1st XI only had 10 so told skipper to play in 1st XI while I look for a game elsewhere. Contacted a previous club of mine (now a family of tw*ts have gone elsewhere) and got a game with them. Bit surprised/disappointed I didn't get asked to bowl given the opposition scored 286 off 45 overs. Didn't say anything as the skipper seemed to be under pressure but his mood (and everyone else's) improved as the club's stalwart batted through and we ended up with a decent draw. I did get to bat although it was 44th over with instructions to hit out or get out. I accomplished both of these objectives scoring a boundary second ball and out LBW (it was plumb) the third.

3rd win from 3 games, a "low scoring thriller" chasing 76 on an absolute shocker of a wicket, 4ball duck to a literal roller from a short of a length ball. Looking forward to next week as it's a top versus second clash.

First game in Hunts Div 4 against Kimbolton 2s today after we moved up from the Sunday Division 5.

Batted first, got asked to open up after our normal one was running late, made 8 before our captain gave me out LBW when i got a faint inside edge onto my pads, can't grumble though as i would have given it in his position. Done my job of wasting 8/9 overs off their opening bowlers, considering i should have been batting 7/8. We made 184. Our number 4 was given out on 70, he top edged it up over the keeper, who took a catch whilst stumbling forwards, he dropped it whilst stumbling and shouldn't have been given as a wicket but he was given out, much to our dismay.

Started bowling in the best possible way, with our left armer taking a wicket first ball of the innings. His brother then took another wicket in the next over and we had them in trouble. i came on with them 100-odd for 4. Took 2-21 in my 5 overs. I had their left hander who carried his bat for 70 struggling against my spin. They were 134-9, and managed to chase down 185. Too many extras and some poor fielding cost us.

Mixed start with new club, batted 3 and got to 25 at about run a ball then just forgot how to bat for some reason, out for 26. Not a bad start for the first game at least. Opened the bowling and bowled like a tart before getting it together after a couple of overs, no wickets though. We got 214, they were about 140-1 with us fielding poorly before our leggies put in a superb spell and we rembered how to catch, 170ish all out, job done! Decent day, stiffening up badly already.

With no hope of scoring that amount of runs out target was 200 to get max batting points we managed 166 i top scored with 48

This season is going to be a tough one having lost half our side in the winter

After losing last week by 9 wickets, we went and won by 9 wickets this weekend.

Opened the bowling and beat the edge on several occasions with no reward, 5 overs for 13. Skipper was saving me for death by I wasn't required as the oppo hit 3 full tosses and two straight to short fine leg in 138 all out.

Today is sunday funday,  bring it on.
