I think it was at Swinbrook Pete
Lovely little ground, that's some good hitting to score that from one over
I feel for the poor bowler!

really frustrating weekend of cricket this one,

against a relegation rival who have now leapfrogged us and put us in the drop zone but its still 1 of 3 to go down so a big last 3 games for us, disappointing as i dont feel like we've played badly and certainly dont feel we've played badly enough to go down just a couple of bad batting performances at the start of the year and a couple of tight games didnt go our way

personally been playing ok, not much chance with the bat but we do bat deep so not the end of the world!

took 6.1-1-13-1 saturday and 7-1-13-2 the sunday before that so happy with the bowling and have somehow developed on that leg spins not sure how as an offie, i think it just floats out the front of the hand but not sure still a nice change up and starting to get my quicker ball much more accurate!

That bowler didn't have great figures!  :o
Mind you, I seem to remember you opening the batting a couple of weeks ago and their opening bowler taken off after 1 over as a certain Northern Monkey carted him all over the place for 4 or 5 boundaries off his first over....bet you didn't feel sorry for him  ;) :D

Sadly it was my final game of the season this weekend but ended on a positive note for both the team and myself. We chased down 183 to win quite comfortably in the end and I hit the winning runs and in doing so brought up my 50.  Probably not too many better ways to finish a season.
The win puts us up into 2nd place which is the best we can achieve. A win next week sees us take 2nd and some silverware. Personally this has been my most successful season with the bat notching up over 300 league runs. I could possibly play a few Sunday friendlies to prolong the season but to be honest I'm done for this season!

After a poor start to the season, and with four rained off games, we made it through to the knock out stages of our LMS league. Last night we won our semi comfortably, to set up the final on Thursday night.... Let's just hope that rain holds off. Not too bad a game for me, with figures of 2-14 off four....

My last 4 innings have been 39*, 0, 0 & 40*.
I'm experiencing everything that's good and bad about this great but frustrating game.
One of the ducks was a horrendous LBW decision as well, not sure if that makes it better or worse.
We won the two games I scored runs in though

Saturday we played away and posted 204-4 dec off about 33 overs. Bowled them about for about 160ish 30 points. This leaves us in around 3rd.
Sunday was NEPL 2XI finals day which we won beating 2 teams out of the league above which is the first time a team out the 2nd division has won the comp.

Somehow made it to semi-finals based on run rate. 20 overs match shortened to 10 each side due to rain and ground conditions.
Batting first, we tried to go hard by changing the batting order. I scored 6 runs off 3 balls and for run out. Somehow team got to 62.
First few overs were good then we just gave it all away quickly.  :(
Now waiting for the fall league.

Week off as league oppo pulled out of the league. Would of been OK as we had been offered a friendly, however they cried off as well. Mood wasn't improved when the weather turned out nice. We've won 8 out of 10 games this season and had 3 abandoned. Two of the abandoned games have been in the last 4 weeks and also against the weak teams. We had the league leaders on a hiding before they played the rain card and ran away. To top it off a team that has won less than half its games is 1 point behind because they haven't had an abandoned game. It's an utter farce and even more frustrating when you can do nothing about it!

Played for the ones yesterday due to loads on hols etc

Absolute joke of an away ground
Beautiful spot in a lovely village, but absolutely no ground work done
Outfield grass was a foot long,(they decided to cut it ten minutes before the start of play? And killed the mower)
Wicket was covered in moss etc and soft as anything,(they had also killed the roller, and it was stuck on the wicket?)

Anyway

They put themselves in to bat, and took their many! Chances and posted 330 ish

We didn't get close, can't remember what I got, but managed to gift a wide one straight to extra cover .doh
And I fielded like an old chap
@Northern monkey the pitch cant be that bad if they got over 300

I played against them in the player pool for Fringford, they smashed almost 300 and bowled us out for under 80

To be fair it was one of those game @jblowe - The guy who got a ton was dropped several times and lost count of the times he mishit the ball inches wide of a fielder!
In fact a few of the batsmen were dropped. Also a simple run out was missed too. After 20 or so dropped, missed and half chances I stopped counting.
They batted first and there were possibly 3 or 4 balls that stayed low - this was towards the end of their innings so it was getting worse. It happened more with us.

But we did miss a trick as the wicket was taking spin beautifully and turning sideways! They had a decent left arm spin at one end and a part time spinner the other. Some balls were turning sideways - it felt like you were batting against Ashwin and Warne!!

It's funny but it was one of those frustrating game where absolutely nothing went right for us. But that happens! One week cricket is the most annoying game ever, and then next it is the best game ever!!  :(

The pitch was a disgrace Jason
Which for such an amazing little village is a shame

We didn't field well, dropped at least 20 catches and couldn't handle their bowlers

Cup final heartbreak!!

We won the toss and batted first, were 0-3 off 2 overs (or 3-0 for the Aussie members)
We limped to 72-8 off our 16 overs which was never enough.

The opposition got it 1 down with 6 overs to spare. I conceded the winning runs which I feel totally (No Swearing Please) about to be honest!  :(

Same here we lost our final on Sat. Game at neutral venue but pitch was very worn massive footholes. We got put in only scored 130 our big hitting opener got a half tracker that hit base of stump. Ball from spinner went over my shoulder. They decided to go on attack as didn't trust deck they got it quickly but lost 6 wickets in process.
