Hi all
as many know i purchased a warsop platinum a few months back,
Netting on Sunday i look down and notice this crack running through the splice



I have spoken with Warsop and they are sending out a new handle for me and have been very helpful
My question is, should i keep using till it goes or should i replace the handle immediately or repair ideas?

No, if you keep using it you risk breaking the handle off and breaking the shoulders with it, damaging the bat more and meaning when it is repaired you'll have more repair work to do and could decrease the life span of the bat after the repair

any thoughts on why its occurred, bat is very new, only had 5 net sessions with it, zero games and been using 45 over old good quality balls. Ive broken handles but never in this particular spot

Crack could be due to, too tight a fit of splice into blade alternatively defect in the handle itself.

I wouldn't play with it if I was you. I have seen this become a lot worse.

Don't think it's from a too tight a fit on this occasion as that would normally lead to shoulder cracks or the back of the bat cracking just below the splice. It could be your stance putting a lot of pressure on that point of the handle when tapping on the ground or leaning on the handle or from hitting a ball up there and just bad luck. Could also be from hitting a ball hard of the toe sending lots of vibrations through the handle.

Ultimately sometimes handles just break with no obvious cause, so it's good to see Warsop are looking after you

Yes def would not use it if the crack is just that one a new handle should fix it.
Interesting my mate and I went down to warsop to get a custom made in 2015, after a couple of games we had the same cracks as in this photo, but also shoulder cracks and other stress cracks on the side of the handle, and tiny hairlines down the back of the bat. They replaced the bat or the handle(can't remember which) and the replacement bat has exactly the same cracks as the first one and it's barely been used.

He still uses it, we didn't take it back again, and it goes fine. He couldn't be bothered to return it again.

But wouldn't recommend using it at all until it is fixed. Warsop were good they do sort out any issues

I did put me off buying any more thou, I hadn't seen this very often and I've had a few bats over the years.

I agree @Alvaro  and i am happy with the service,
obviously would have been happier without the break but they are sending me the handle i requested,
They did offer to fix for free however i would have had to pay the shipping over to the UK (AUS based)
And by the time i do that i may as well get a handle fitted here. So they are sending a handle out and i can get it fitted locally
