Yes it's def storm damaged. Tricky as you're not original buyer from them, but the bat has a fault. I was in the exact same position buying a h4l off the forum last year. It went exactly as this has.
The only thing I can say is all of the U.K. Companies i have dealt with when this happens are very fair and sort it out.

I suspect you will have a good result, chase are excellent.

Let's hope that is the case...I'm sure it will get sorted out

Couple of screws and a bit of tape and this'll be good to go again!

Screws!!

What's needed is some dowels.

Quick update, Chase came back to me to confirm it was indeed Storm Damage. Unfortunately as I was not the original purchaser and the bat was outwith the 12 month warranty - bat was 2 years old - they were unable to replace. They did offer me a 25% discount as a goodwill gesture. Can't complain really I thought I was getting a bargain. Have bitten the bullet and bought a GM Chrome L555 808 from Barringtons as a replacement. Bought for £156 so a good price. Should probably have gone for one initially but 'bargain' head took over.

Thanks for all your replies, v helpful.

Bit late now but never disregard the forum sponsors for a bargain and quality to boot
