Actually, I'm going to go with adb club cricketer and say that it is indeed Shane Watson's. SS do make a few bats for Watson, I guess.

The aforementioned is completely possible as Steve Smith and Maxwell also use Indian bats. Maxwell gave one of his RNS bats (which was CRAZY HUGE) to the Director of Cricket at my club when he visited South Wiltshire CC.

Plus, when Shane is pronounced in the typical South-Asian accent, it makes sense why it was spelt like that "Shyn". Watson uses a 2.9-2.10. Plus, I've heard that SS Maximuses are usually liked by players. I mean... Rohit Sharma once used an SS Maximus where he removed the stickers and put Adidas Libro stickers on.

Completely possible. Wouldn't say that this was an off-the-shelf bat. Also, I think its pretty stupid to assume that the writing was done over the plastic, it was clearly done underneath.

Also, there is no toe-guard, etc.

Going back to what sehgal said, yes, sponsored players willow generally isn't available to the public, but when they come into shops due to a surplus or when they've been rejected, its more often than not, legit.

I've been told that the ping on this bat is crazy, so I'm probably going to go for it.

The onlinestockist could've done this with all their other bats as well, and pro bats are wrapped in plastic IF they're sent to a shop because they're there to be sold to customers in a neat and orderly fashion (well, that's how they do in India at least, not here much...)

Online Stockist seem to sell more 'pro' bats than normal bats.....

If I was called Shane and my bat sponsor sent me bats with 'SHYN' written on them, I'd send them back and get a new batmaker.

You think Watson is intelligent enough to know it's spelled wrong? ???

They make amazing bats and that's all that matters. They even misspell Indian names. I talked through in detail as to how misspelling it was very possible.
The people working in the batmaking department, etc, are not exactly the most literate. Shouldn't have to have said that!

This is the case in most batmaking factories, except in more developed countries such as the one we live in: England!

I'm now 99.99% sure that its Watson's. Compared it to the shape/profile of the few bats that JPGavan was repairing during/before the IPL and its the exact same thing. Same steepness of duckbill.

Bought the bat 2 hours ago, though! CANNOT wait to use it. Will arrive in 5-7 days, then I'll do a review. :)

Online stockist bats regularly ping "extreme" "like a train" "loaded with ping"
"Massive fullshape players grades" :D

Ajit clearly told me that this is the only player's bat that they have in stock. Not every bat has writing on the toe; the spelling mistake is further proof.

Am I the only one that thinks this is a load of nonsense?

That's why I started this thread - to find out if I'm being duped...

It looks exactly like a Shane Watson bat, though.

SHYN - Short Handle Young and Naive.
Anyone believing this is truly a pros bat may well be attending their first rodeo.

It also looks like every other 'pro bat' that is made by SS or SG they are all the same shape - a duckbill - so it's silly to say the shape is the same as Shane Watson because just about every T20 player using an Asian brand uses this shape which is also the same as their stock shape.  some added sharpie on the toe does not make it special - this bat is just a one off stock bat that was drier than the rest so has less concaving - no chance it's a pro bat IMO.

Also without actually seeing the bat from side on you have no idea what the shape is! Lol the duckbill 'shape' is the same as every other duckbill ever produced (okay maybe not but you get the point)
