Hi Fellas,
Sorry to start off a fresh thread for this but thought I'd share a couple of ideas my club (I) comes up with regards to fundraising. If anyone else has any ideas please let me know because I rather neglected the task this season and no one else could be mithered with it.
My club is not always open through the week like a lot of the clubs are in the North West for regular drinkers pub style so we rely on actual cricket match days and out of season functions for income.
If anyone has a successful spiel to get companies / organizations interested in board / banner sponsors then I would be very keen in taking a look at them also.
Things we do already...
Race day - not greatly supported these days, club always hire someone in
Christmas comedy Night - £400 for 4 comics/ £10 a ticket usually get 40-60 turning up which covers acts. Bar all profit - gets lairy as close to xmas.
Bonfire - very well supported / £2 adult £1 a child which I think needs increasing but committee like the idea of 2 adults and a kid = £5
Board sponsors
Things being implemented...
Quiz - local pub sponsors us so getting their quizmaster to hold us one at minimal cost. How much support we will get is going to be hit and miss after a game Saturday but fingers crossed.
20/20 v local Saturday football team - holding it on a Friday. The football has 3 senior teams so hopefully get a lot of lads down drinking laughing at their mates trying to give it a whack. Easier to arrange for us this season rather than a 6 a side.
End of season car boot - asking club members to give us any stuff they want clearing out and pitching up at the local car boot. Minimal outlay to pay for car spot and hopefully couple of hundred pound profit.
Cricket bat raffle - buy a decent bat raffle it off over the season. £2 a square with a very large amount of squares on. pick up a decent bat in sale £100, raffle sales up to £400 = £300 profit
Ground naming - good package tie a company in for 2 seasons, hold a sponsors day and wine and dine a little
Stump Sponsor - get some stumps pimped out with a companies name / logo charge £250 for privilege, outlay around £100.
Bat Sticker Sponsorship - get all the lads to agree to having stick on bat. Charge company £150
Will be pushing the junior coordinator to get his kids bag packing because the junior section literally gives nothing back to the club. The parents don't seem to interested and we invest a lot of time in their little darlings.
Has anyone got any other good ideas?
Has anyone got experience of holding beer festivals? I.E how to approach brewery's to get them on board and how to advertise the event to ale drinkers? Is there a ale drinkers notice board where you can advertise the event to those in search of a good pint?
Appreciate any ideas / suggestions.
