GM Now
« on: July 05, 2017, 11:06:48 AM »

Hi,

I've got myself a new GM Neon Signature and I was expecting it to have a clear anti scuff sheet as per GM Now - http://www.gm-cricket.com/heritage/technology/gm-now.aspx

I am going to oil and knock it in, but should it have the sheet?  I'm wondering what has been done to knock it in "in-house".

Thanks

Unfortunately it sounds like you've been had and bought a game as every single GM I've seen has a scuff sheet fitted.

That's odd actually, as I also understood they all came with sheets applied.

I've been using a GM Chrome Signature this season, came with a sheet when I bought it from Uzi originally and even got returned with another sheet after being repaired by GM directly.

Retailers can request the bats to come with whatever finish they desire, so for example some ask for toe guards and antiscuff sheets etc not to be fitted, and for the GM now knocking in not to be done, they can then sell these services themselves to the customer. I don't know much about Fordham sports but they've been around a long time, wouldn't worry too much.

Thanks.  I called them and they said none of their 2017 bats have the sheet.

So I called GM and they told me that FS ask for the bats to be provided without the sheet....but their bats are still oiled and knocked in as per GM Now - its just the sheet that isnt provided.

Anyway thanks for the replies

Still a gun mate, the repair job from GM was as good as any I've seen - nothing but praise for them!

I've probably hit a good 500 balls in the last few weeks with only a bit of light feathering so it's holding up well
