I assume the same will be said to the people suggesting buying an Aldred? This is a man who went on at length about soft pressing and pro pressing being nonsense (which i broadly agree with) but now quite happily produces bats for Newbery with soft, medium or hard pressing, and not only that but each press comes with varying warranty types.....

Take it your not too keen then @Vitas Cricket? Sell any Newbery bats at Vitas?

Yes, was just giving an example, same applies to Aldred or any other manufacturers producing bats for different clients. However, i only meant they don't necessarily have to be the same by default, which means  they could be similar or different (depending on agreements/designs etc).

Yes i agree with you, i didn't mean for the tone of my post to come across in the way it may have done. Same goes for the suggestions i've seen about new balance and slazenger being the same bats from the same place. A brand can request various things that can and will differentiate their product from another brand, even if the same manufacturer is producing them both.

@Churchy1989 Have never stocked them, can't argue that when they were offering TK made bats they would have been some of the best on the market, but they are the rudest company we've ever dealt with. That is our initial impression of them when we first opened and in subsequent dealings since. Virtually begging for us to stock them and then not turning up to a meeting they insisted on having even though i said we had made all our buying decisions for that season was not a great way to get back into our good books.

Good to see that their magnificent customer service spreads right across the full spectrum of clients and not just the poor old customers 😂😉

I bought my Newbury GT 5* from @Vitas Cricket in 2013!!!!!!!

To be fair though Robin did tell me that they picked it up from a bankrupt shop close by....amazing bat!!!

Very interesting points so far....maybe I'll look at some other option for my next bat.

Thanks everyone.

I've lost track of who Newbery's then batmaker (allegedly) makes for now, but he's launching his own brand soon?
