Have to say I'm quite surprised by the reaction on here, would've thought more people would be condemning Stokes rather than jumping to defend him.

All part and parcel of a public forum though, everyone is entitled to their opinion after all!

Think you will find those of us a little longer in the tooth have learnt to get ALL the facts before we jump to conclusions and condem people..

Also you have to put things into concept. Is what he did worse than what has happened to those girls in Rotherham/Newcastle/Oldham etc? Has he walked into a concert and taken people's lives or maimed them for life?

The majority of us agree his aggression went to far after the lad tried to attack people with a bottle but it didn't warrant the abuse and accusations thrown at him by people like yourself who didn't know the full facts...

I'm lost? Have we actually started comparing a pis*ed up brawl to international terrorism? Come on now, lets not start taking things out of context.

Yes he's clearly aggravated by the bottle, I get that and understand that - but equally he didn't need to continually batter the bloke when he'd clearly backed off did he? I'm not saying a reaction wasn't warranted/provoked, I'm saying the decision he chose was too far.

As a side note, I've never claimed to have the full facts - as, unsurprisingly, none of us do. Lets just let this one lie as clearly there's been significant misunderstanding.

That's my point... If you didn't have the full facts (and you have admitted you don't) then why comment like you did??

I mentioned the other acts of terrorism and abuse against females as they are factual events that have happened yet have get less of a reaction than Stokes..

Hence why this Stokes incident needs to be put in context...

If I'm not mistaken, we've both made our views on the incident public - you might want to refer to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_pot_calling_the_kettle_black

As for claiming that Ben Stokes is getting more of a reaction than the events of Manchester arena, I literally don't know where to start.

Anyone watching the current game (rather than just debating Benjamin!)?

What is happening with Jake Ball - is he bowling well and just unlucky, is he bowling badly?  He seems to have gone a little bit backwards from his England debut days?

Any views?

I think Plunkett knows his game and would be a far better option than Ball...

His bowling doesn't seemed to have progressed. Also he must know  that if you pitch the ball up to Gale just outside off stump he takes  a big swing with his  heavy bat and put you over the fence  landing the ball there once you  could understand  but not when you follow  it with another 3  balls in succession.

After all that, Marlon has carte blanche as far as I'm concerned. Absolute hero.

Ball really has been awful

Was he as bad as the text commentary I've been following made him sound? Sounded like Curran and Plunkett were head and shoulders above him.

concerningly for England Ball as a habit of going for over 80 runs to many times.

I never actually said that.  :o Again you seem to struggle with facts... And since you mentioned it, I have looked back at the forum and there has been more written about this incident than Manchester..
