From an on-field perspective, he obviously doesn't play much county wise but when he does it's always helpful.

From a commercial perspective however he's a huge signing, there aren't many players in the country that command as much from a commercial as him I wouldn't have thought. He's one of the first names on the England team sheet at the moment and has somewhat of a cult following going on. For a smaller team like Worcs, it's a big deal for us - a great figure head for the club if nothing else.

moeen is a brilliant signing. worcs having an england player and especially one as recognisable as mo certainly helps a lot

also when he is around the team he makes a difference to the players gives them a lift and such like. it also creates a buzz with the supporters, they almost seem more interested in the cricket.

one final note easy is a lovely guy and always a pleasure to talk to

He also brings inspiration to youngsters of a similar background. I believe Warwickshire were interested getting him support a plan to encourage more talent from Asian heritage through their youth system. Also competing for the same players, they have lost out on a few to Worcs over the last 5 - 10 years.

Northants have signed Luke Procter - a somewhat less elegant left-hander - from Lancashire.

Definitely, especially given they lost Nash.

Will they have the financial clout though to compete with Notts, Hampshire & the other Test Ground counties?

Surely he will only move to a Div 1 side

No point in Northeast going anywhere but a division 1 side. Yorkshire or Surrey surely leading the case

Surrey, Notts and Lancs will all have a sniff - they always do.

Northeast on his way to div 1 sharpish, England side before the end of the year. Mr Keeley had better get those CNC machines warmed up for when the bats get on tv!

I'd have him at Yorkshire tmro, but can't see them chasing him as I'd say they'd prefer to promote from within. But he's too talented to miss out on IMO
