Whatever the differing views, I've never understood the warning thing? You don't get warned for stumpings do you, which is after all exactly the same thing.

spirit of the game tosh. If a batsman has left his crease early, he's cheating not the bowler, running him out. I've done it several times, and i didn't warn the idiot who was 2 yards down the pitch before i even got in my delivery stride.

I also find it off putting when I am bowling and the non-striker is in my peripheral vision being half way down the fecking track!

I am all for it, but clearly advise the batsman and umpire prior to doing it.
