2018 Kit

Hi All

Happy New Year!
Our 2018 kit is now online - https://goo.gl/b7s1Lj

The new 2018 Custom and Pro softs use premium material and offer Test quality "Pro-tec" protection.
The Pads have our new wrap round "Skin fit". They are extremely lightweight due to the use of "Gel-tec" and premium material. This makes for our most comfortable softs to-date.
We are shooting product walk through videos shortly.

We have 2 new duffles available -

Smaller duffle to follow, along with a gym bag.

Due to huge investment and workload sourcing and preparing willow, we will not be releasing a new bat range this year, but looking at 2 new ranges for 2019. We will release more info on this here throughout the year.

Ok - I'm going to get told off I'm sure, and this is in no way directed specifically at H4L because I am a bit of a fan-boy (and they are only following the market trends).

But I'm kind of glad I play at a crap standard with not-very-fast bowlers, and can get away with moderate softs protection.

I'm astonished and saddened by the fact that you can now pay £200 for a pair of pads and gloves combined.

I'm fine with people wishing to spend that, but if you treated yourself pre-season to pads, gloves, a good bat, a net bat, a bag and some shoes that could come to a grand. That's my budget for my daughters first car!

It just seems a lot of money, but maybe I'm out of step.

All softs seem to be rather expensive these days. I like 1 set of pads plus 2 matching sets of gloves so it would be even worse for me!
I do have the Custom softs which are absolutely gorgeous looking (they look and feel so classy and comfortable!!) in the flesh. But I was lucky enough to go to the workshop and have a Custom Pro made, and Matt was kind enough to offer a little discount on the Custom softs as I was buying the bat too.

But generally speaking about the price of softs, I totally agree that they are not cheap these days!

Arent the prices on h4l (and any other manufacturer) RRP which a retailer will more than likely sell cheaper than? Agree the prices are getting high though

Hi all.
Thanks for the feedback. We are offering soft bundles (going on the site tonight). Unfortunately, with shipping and exchange rates softs and bags have gone up. Especially as we design every aspect of our softs each time with the latest materials etc. This is why we are not doing a wheelie bag this year.
We did look at an entry-level range, but trying to compete with the likes of sports direct on low-end softs, just isn't cost effective. We are introducing a budget youth range, as it is becoming an expensive hobby to get in to for kids.

The custom pads are unbelievably comfortable and light this year. If any of you are local, highly recommend popping in to try a set on.

Our prices are RRP but our stockists will certainly be in line with this.

We do this at grounds around Kent. Was very popular at Kent v Australia. Should be easy enough to set up online. Leave it with me  ;)

It is worth entering the raffle! If the 2018 Custom softs are even half as lush as last years ones then they will be worth having. But as they are likely to be even better than last years, then they will be raising the standard even further!  :D
