He wasn't ever someone I'd class as been rapid anyway, when conditions suit he's fairly handy with the moving ball though. Jimmy isn't rapid but it seems to work well for him when it's swinging, he's a level above Southee though

Tim Southee is one of the best all rounders in the world, just ask Tim Southee...

Wood is very swift, Southee would likely seem quick to someone like me, but probably never has been to top (read proper) batsmen.  Southee is a good all-round cricketer, decent lower order bat, decent opening or first change quick with good variety and control.  I mean he's got a couple of hundred test wickets to his name, that's not bad going.  He's definitely lost a bit of bite, but he's capable of turning it on still.

Can see him going the way of Chris Jordan and just bowling short spells in limited overs cricket. Sounds like he'll be much more effective there anyway.

On a side note - did anyone see that video of a reporter doing a pitchside piece to camera whilst they were training in the background and Southee absolutely creamed one into her? I'm sure that was Southee, he came over and apologised.

Southee used to be mid 80s - the other day he was bowling mid 70s.

Wow was he really that slow, I didn't watch it enough to notice. His slower ball is a pretty poorly disguised effort too

He was around 123-127k most of the time, so 75-80.

Maybe he'll end up being a slow bowler by choice, not by deterioration.

Lets see if Hales can make it count. He's had a poor winter so far.

Just read an interview with Bayliss saying he may regret his white ball decision as he simply won't hit enough balls in match play.

Sounds like they tried to talk him out of it.

Munro's technique is rather dreadful. Nothing more than a leg side Larry
