8 years on, how would people stock a new shop?

01. New Balance - they're the popular brand at the moment. Shoes are very nice too.
02. Gray Nicolls - well known name that sells itself. They do everything including lids, shoes & clothing
03. Gunn & Moore - well known name that sells itself. They do everything including lids, shoes & clothing
04. Kookaburra - well known name that sells itself. They do everything including lids, shoes & clothing
05. SS/TON - Competitive pricing and popular from the amount you see being used
06. Masuri - If a retailer didn't stock them would they be taken seriously?
07. Adidas - gear looks good this year and the ones I've seen always seem to ping
08. Neon - Lush softs and every shop should stock some pink bats
09. Aero - probably the most popular thigh guards and boxes currently sold I'd guess?
10. CA - Likely to sell well I'd think
11. Chase - my local maker so would be rude not to.
12. Hunts - they do everything and I have a bit of a soft spot for them

1 New Balance - will sell loads, a full range especially kids sizes.
2. Slazenger - so I can compare them with the above and provide occasional players/kids with affordable gear and shake my head knowingly as other sticker brands are preferred.
3. GM - will always be popular and they offer a wide range of gear at various price points.
4. GN (Aussie models only) so I can see for myself what all the fuss is about.
5. Readers - decent coil grips
6. Asics - best shoes there are
7. Ton - because I'm local to M&H
8. B3 - the website can easily provide a custom service to those who have never considered it.
9. Ayrtek - helmets underpinned with thoughtful design
10. Salix - pure quality
11. H4L - quality and performance
12 Puma - best softs ever.

1) Salix start with quality and you can't go wrong
2) GN
3) GM
4) Kook there is a reason these 3 dominate the market each year so must be stocked plus there gear is always decent
5) Masuri
6) Hunts county more for the whites, accessories than the kit which outside if Suffolk isn't favoured really in my opinion
7) New Balance covers the kit and shoes market well
8) aero strippers and bags
9) H4L top kit
10) horizon love the socks and must have decent socks
11) Vulcan bats and softs are great
12) Garrad & Flack to support local business

Saw the thread read the first page to catch up and thought mongoose the brand everyone is talking about ok have I missed something. But it was the Talisman mention that me double check the date! Interesting how some have stood the test and others have wilted. Or brands were opinions on them have changed both positively and negatively.

This is exactly why I resurrected the thread.
Also, have softs changed much in the last 10 years?

Are we choosing based on kid badger preferences or are we looking at making as much money as possible?

1) GN
2) GM
3) Kookaburra
4) Aero
5) Masuri
6) New Balance
7) Adidas (mainly for whites and trianing kit )
8) RPC
9) Salix
10) unbranded plain gloves and pads
11) duke (balls)
12) Canterbury (mainly for training kit )

Basically all of it can be sold online, aiming at volume rather than margins to get the name as the go to place.
Unbranded for the casual player who simply doesn’t want to spend the high prices in modern Cricket

You need the big guns as most casual players and kids only know these. Then the rest are the best in their field
