6. Aero - Apparently their strippers are the best around, so I'd have them for that reason.

Suppose that's a good enough reason to have any brand in your store...

If a new retailer was to set up tomorrow what brands would they need to stock, backed up with a reason you would want that product in the range. The retailer could only stock products from 12 brands and all would have to be off the shelf products from existing brands worldwide. The companies finished list would have to cover every aspect of kit from shoes and socks to helmets.

1. New Ballance. Kids buy it in droves cos of root, covers shoes to.
2. Matsuri, probably still the most popular helmet.
3. Kook, as do everything including balls, and currently like there range.
4. Gray nics as do everything. Including training aids.
5. GM as still popular.
6. H4l, as I’m a fan of there bats, and would push them for custom made stuff.
7. Ayrtek, helmet, boxes, and current range of sorts and bats means a left field option.
8.ss/Ton as I’d like to offer atleast one Indian brand on my shelf’s.
9, keeley cricket, why have a sticker brand he makes for when you can rock keeley itself?
10. Adidas, for shoes and clothing range, maybe even a club shop that reliable does Adidas gear.
11. Duke, get a quality selection of balls on the shelf.
12. Strettom Fox. Just because.

Great thread, love seeing different opinions on stuff like this. Personally, looking at it with my business-head screwed firmly on, I'd go for;

1. GM
2. Gray Nics
3. Kookaburra
4. NB
5. Ton
6. Adidas
7. Masuri
8. Ayrtek
9. Aero
10. Chase, H4L or another - basically one of the elite medium-sized/boutique brands.
11. Surridge clothing (and a screen printing/embroidery set-up!)
12. Be rude not to include myself :D

@Neon Cricket I think you have wasted a slot on surridge as many of your other brands already have clothes.

Very true, of all the brands I could actually forget ;)

Gray Nics & Adidas stash are both very decent so swapping out Surridge for Hunts would make perfect sense

yep great thread as i think we have all dreamed of opening a shop at some point  :)

i think a lot would depend on location of the shop.... so with that in mind, the below is based on if i was opening in my local area of MK -

1. GN - major brand covers everything
2. Kook - major brand covers everything
3. NB - major brand covers everything
4. GM - major brand covers everything
5. Adidas - major brand covers everything
6. SS/Ton/MRF/SG - Indian market
7. CA/Ishan - Pakistani market
8. D&P/B&S - SA market
9. Choice/Red Ink/RPC - are local smaller brands and think it would be nice to support them
10. Masuri - specialist helmets
11. Asics - specialist shoes

I think that as a fantasy retailer, I'd like to stock rugby and hockey stash too, so that people help me to pay the rent all year round.
