Sheffield Indoor Cricket Centre
« on: March 02, 2018, 10:12:52 AM »

Is this any good? I can't find much info on it other than a Facebook group and an address - there's no website that I can find.

Wondered if anyone is a regular and has info on prices/facilities etc.

Haven't played cricket for about 3 years or so, but when I did, I used to be here all the time and my last cricket club still has their nets there.

Good facility if it still up to standard, got everything you would expect. Also run an indoor league.

Prices are average from memory, maybe £12-£15 per hour with bowling machine?

@smilley792 is probably your best person to ask and might still use it?

It's decent.... Good long run ups for the bowlers.

Bounce can be a little on the low side but its better than getting one rising of a length and clocking you on the hand or lid.
Prices where £15 and £18 an hour from what I remember.

Are the bowling machines good? I've never bowled against one before so i'm not sure how they work.

Do you get the balls included and then just line them up or do you need to bring a friend to operate the machine?

Prices are as LcWoodward  decent faculties. Place is well sued so bounce is occasionally indifferent, but nothing like dot ball got before it closed.

Bowling machines are easy to operate, and yes they supply you with balls. But you will need a mate to operate it.
Or if you ask nicely, the guy running the place may feed them you.

Jesus you're not wrong there....Towards the end Dotball just got dangerous. I think the variable bounce is always on the low side(was trying to be nice) but it will get you ready for the early April pitches.

Where was Dotball? Heard the decks were like trampolines one ball and sponges the next!

Dotball ended up in a catch 22 position, and it was only ever gonna close. Everyone stopped using it as facilities got poor, and they weren’t interested in upgrading the facilities as people had stopped using it.

I needed up with one fit here bowling machines, which then broke on my after only 3 months. Oh the joy!
