Always spiked trainers for me.

No football these days, retired 3 years ago to spend more time with young family (apart from cricket season...)

If I were a member of the spiky trainers brigade, I'd seriously look at getting some of George's toe protectors.
They slip inside the trainer and weigh next to nothing - so no damage to your image, or your agility.
Cop a ball on the toe - even from a spinner - and you can hang up your lovely new trainers for the rest of the season.

Just sayin'.  ;)
