GJ- was gonna go in Jan, but now booked for Early March.

That is the plan, but things very rarely go to plan.

How do you know if a handle is good or poor quality? Are there any mini tests that can be done? Also You here alot of '4 piece' or '12 piece' cane handle being used. Are there more pieces a sign or better quality?

2 things for me

Pickup / Balance it has got to feel right...
Ping... I do it on sound if I get a booming hollow sound from finger tapping she's a good un.....!!!!

what to Avoid... In a shop, nothing, try everything or as much as you can be bothered to and then eliminate it.....

Tests ummm each to there own I'm very much a finger tapper....!!!!!!  Thing is it all difficult to explain... You could get 2 bats and bounce a ball off mallet it but you may find subconcisencously [<spelling] hit the one you like better a little harder

And the handles?
How can you tell until you've played with them in terms of "quality"

Sounds a tricky combo trying to bat whilst eating nuts and a curry and sipping a beer....could get rather messy!

H'mmm let me check I've packed all the right stuff for tomorrow - bats, pads, gloves, box, curry, nuts, pie, jaffas, pint, ex-lax, ambulance ...................yep, normal net for me.
