do yourself a favour and seriously look at Grove bats from Meulemans. This year they are unbelievable and are an excellent price. the best value for money bats in Aus.

Mostly India, top grade are Australian.

All made by GN. Makers Choice made in Melbourne. If you blokes watched my reviews you would know this.

Having visited with a UK perspective I found them very underwhelming for the money but then nothing in Aus grabbed me. Bats are so damned expensive and it isn't as easy to find something really special... but that's another story and it's all relative I guess.

Even the price of Indian imported bats is crazy by comparison so I'd personally look at someone who can make a bat for you so you get exactly what you (think) you want rather than have an online gamble. Do B3 still have their Aus special deal? Maybe the Aus residents can help track down a decent bat maker (I know McVicar has been mentioned a lot)?

edit: oh, and Sarg's YouTube video are really awesome for narrowing down bats you may not be able to get hands on first

I’ll stick to my review hobby and not comment on the commercial reality of costs of anything in Australia being expensive. There are plenty of bat makers, GN and Bradbury for instance. I don’t know them all.

Haven't watched your videos, but Grove do have videos of them selecting bats in India on their own Facebook page.

my two pence worth on this...

SS - never seen a bad one. Performance wise, all are great. Have heard people had trouble with handles years ago but not so much now.

SG - unsure these guys. A lot of the bats I have seen, always seem very hard. Take an age to open up to optimal performance.

DSC - oo, new kids on the block and i am mighty impressed tbh. Performance is great, how long they last remains to be seen!

Just my ten cents worth, I've had a great experience with Rod from Coopers Cricket in Brisbane. He manufactures his bats from first principles in Brisbane, I've been to his workshop, instead of getting roughly shaped clefts like some guys (JP Gavan for instance) do. Have a look at him, good prices, good quality and good service. And no I'm not affiliated with him in any way  :D
