Some of you may have come across a link I've shared over the past few weeks regarding a tragic accident involving a member of our club whilst out playing in Aus a little under a month go. Sadly it's a very real possibility he won't be able to play cricket again which I'm sure we can all agree is a real shame and something none of us could even dream of. The picture on the GoFundMe link puts it into perspective how lucky he is to even survive.
As a result both Trowbridge CC, and his club out in Aus, Kyabram CC, have been fundraising to help assist with Billy's on-going recovery. We're holding a charity auction this Friday (Nov 23rd) at Trowbridge CC with some fantastic lots available thanks to the generosity of many local individuals and companies (shout out to
@Uzi Sports for their donation too).
One prize in particular which was donated to us by the MCC is a private net coaching session down at the Lords Indoor Centre with none other than England's Sam Billings. Naturally this is an exceptional prize which I'm sure we'd all jump at the chance of taking part in. By the request of the MCC we are running this lot as an eBay auction in order to generate as much interest/funds for Billy as possible - the lot is now live and will finish at 9pm this Friday - conveniently during the auction night
If anyone would be interested then feel free to follow the link below and start bidding, every penny raised will be going directly to Billy's fund so it'll be going to help a young man in what is going to be a long recovery process in a bid to one day get back on the field.
