New Zealand had be due a defeat, without the rain India would’ve battered them. Kiwis had scrambled home a few time as well.

Worst result for us England fans with Pakistan winning

Think we now have to beat India on Sunday and NZ as well.
Two sides that are better skilled than us.

Pakistan cruising to victory.

Doing what England can’t and taking a measured approach to a below par score.

Kiwis got to be gutted with that score having chose to bat.

Not only more skilled but we are handicapped with Roy’s injury

Damn that was painful from NZ. Classic Pakistan though and now they should be full of confidence.

We actually needed that in hindsight. We should make a change at the top and I would also give Blundell the other keeper a go as Latham has been woeful. Nicholls at the top, Blundell as WK.

I don't think we were complacent, as we have not been playing that well. Better to lose now than later on...

That drop from Latham was costly. Babar finally playing a match winning knock and taking his side over the line

Agree that Nicolls should be opening

This loss opens the tournament more - the irony on Sunday will be pak fans supporting india

Babar Azam seems on track to join the worlds top 4-5 batsmen.

depending on results we could potentially have 2 quarter finals for the last 2 places in the semis

England vs New Zealand and Pakistan vs Bangladesh

after looking certain top 4 a week ago this world cup has certainly got interesting with most games now critical for qualification hopes, the likes of west indies, south Africa and Afghanistan can have a big say in who qualifies for the semi finals!

yes, we're all disappointed with England in the last few days however we cant argue its made the tournament much more interesting!!

back to the debate with the england side, having seen ow much it turns at edgbaston over the few games that have been there surely we must go in with somehitng liek this:

bairstow
ali (Roy if fit)
root
morgan
stokes
buttler
woakes
plunkett (ali if roy fit)
rashid
archer
wood

I'd go with that but can't agree with Ali opening. He's looked bereft of confidence with the bat, so not sure he'd be any use there at all. I know Vince hasn't done much but I'd back him over Ali to score runs at two. Let's hope Roy is fit!

i look at it as though he has just as much chance as Vince of getting to 25 and out, but more chance of going big. he is also more aggressive so more like for like than roy, also give us left and right hand (which i personally like) it also allows us to play an extra bowler in plunkett who i think we have missed badly in the games weve lost

Yeah I can see the argument, its just his batting form has dropped off the edge of a cliff recently. Its almost Stuart Broad like! (Slight exaggeration obviously!).

So after 6 matches, West Indies still whacking it half way down. You’d think someone with half a brain would learn after that many matches...
