Okay I've settled on last years GM Originals... don't ask, my decision making confuses me also! Thought they represented good value for money...

Only time will tell if I stick with them or they end up in the Sales section....  :)

@Ayrtek Cricket  or @Blank Bats  are the most effortlessly comfortable pads I've ever worn - and believe me, I spend a long time in pads

(waiting to bat)

Life as a CBF member..

So got GM pads.. said large so returned them as I had seen GM pads with 'mens' written the packet, only to find out that Large was mens in last years model ***duh!!!!***

Anyway... have ended up purchasing some SS Test Openers... heard people  speak highly of them so thought I'd give them a go..

I *think* I have now have my kit completed for next year:

Bats: GM Mythos Signature /AM custom/ GM Noir 808 (but May Sell the Noir  as I only want 2 bats for the season)
Gloves: AM Monarch / BAS Players Edition White
Pads: BAS Players Edition/ SS Test Openers
New Trousers: Puma Trousers (bought a few seasons back bit finally fit me)/NB trousers - Really feel the difference with premium trousers
Spikes: Batting NB CK10s (were tight for em but got a shoe stretcher and stretched them :) )/ New NB CK4040 Bowling  boots fro fielding as I have bad ankle

Now can I survive until the start of the season with no changes....  :( :( :( :( :( :(

What made you to even think of another pair when you are using bas players.
I have ss test opener and i am thinking to get bas players edition too.
Whats your take on both of them and how do they compare against each other.

Bas players were good. Mine are getting a little battered.

As always want to try something new. I think the SS feel way more premium than the BAS pads but didn't like the red colour. Sent them back now. As I'm waiting on unbranded pads from OLS.

Still like my BAS pads but looking for a change... who knows I may come full circle and just get another pair of BAS pads... :s

I bought my first pair of Legend pads almost 2 years ago. I have yet to see any wear or tear. I also have a pair of B3 pads and after few games, they started to rip at the base of bottom strap. I haven’t noticed any of it with Legends and I shared it with my friends and they also complimented how light and comfortable they feel.

I am considering the legends for next season as ive read some very good reviews. One question, how do they size up? I am 6 feet tall but prefer a smaller fit, have had to get a small mens in a few brands over the years to get a comfortable fit

Legends seem great pads but they weigh 900+ grams, so not light by today's standards.

Ok so why i was considering bas after buying ss test opener was rhe red and black line on side of the pads that looked cheap. My older test opener pair did not have them.
So i decided to remove the red line myself and gave acetone a go.
You can still see small faded coloring but cant see from slight distance so it did the job for me.
The trick here is that you dont rub actone but tap it to transfer the color from the pads to the paper towel.
Here are some pics.

Ps good tip 're acetone. I didn't like the red line either... not really a fan of the red as badge but like the red on MRF pads

Regular size should be good for you. I am about 5’9 and they fit me just fine.
