Cricket Covers
« on: February 18, 2010, 08:43:07 AM »

Lads just a quick one our club is looking to buy a set of covers this season best deal i have found so far is the below which knocks £1000 off due to Cricket Force....

http://www.durantcricket.co.uk/outdoor-cricket-covers

Any of your guys clubs got these and think they are worth the money? weve got 2 pitches so looking to get a set this season and another set next year so want a worthwhile investment.

Or has anyone else got any recommendations that thier club has used to get theirs?

Cheers

Tom

Got a sponsor already mate so they may get their name printed on the side of them but were ok to buy them just want the best value for money really and know they are worth the investment in the particualr brand/comapnies over anothers.

Hi all....

I would be interested if you find anything out Tom - we are also thinking of getting some covers for the coming season, although probably not plastic covered ones as they are likely to be vandalised!!!!

a team in our league had the vandalism problem so they just got a large plastic sheet which they pulled over the square when it rained, seemed to work well enough, cheap and cheerful not too hard to replace if it ever did get vandalised, i think a grizzly bear would be a good investment for some clubs, to stop these idiots coming in and causing damage. basically byo, you need a large plastic sheet and a grizzly bear, simple!

tom, get footie matty and jacko to guard you ground? they'll kick anything that comes near and wont have to worry about getting booked?

on a serious note, our covers are decent but so bloody hard to push as the wheels are so crap, same with our sight screens, could come and have a look at our thomas?? although you'll be wanting something better so maybe see what not to get :D

Tom do you know any fabricators (welders) tell you you can make 3 covers for under £800

To get covers like our but that cover the whole square, they do a good job unless people step on them with their spikes on :|

ahh okay cool wasn't sure, sound easier to get on than normal covers, depends how much of the square you want to cover tbh.
